im getting a mini in the not so near future, probably when they make a new model maybe when they figure out the board stuff.... I know the mini runs on lp and hp and i was wondering if i should get a HP becuz thats pretty much universal for every marker and i have a piranah evo right now that only runs on HP and it would be nice not buying two 200$ tanks.

HP. the only gun you really need a LP tank for is angels (newer)

Actually, the new angels are fine with HP tanks now too. I think you still need LP for shockers though.

hp works well with any gun, except some of the angels. lp is better for guns that operate at that low a pressure, as the lower psi is easier on the reg. this comes into play and can be seen more easily when you play alot, like every weekend. there will be a noticeable difference in reg life if you switch your tank to lp.
im not sure how this would affect a mini though, because instead of using a regulator, the air goes straight thru the grip frame.

no... the regulator is in the grip, it dosnt just go strait to the operating system. correct me if im wrong.

Use HP. Only time I would consider using a LP tank over a HP one is if the gun I was using required it, or my operating pressure was under 100psi. The Mini runs at about 175psi.
And yes, the Mini's reg is in the grip frame area, not the normal area.

Actually, If I follow the velocity adjustment video, the mini reg is in the ASA.

Thats what I understand too, but I wasn't completely sure.

Yes, the mini reg is in the ASA. There is just like a volume chamber type thing in the grip frame.

the ASA has reg in it, and then goes through a 2 piece threaded tube up to a inlet hole where lp air goes in to the bolt and other inlet hole pushes out air to move the poppet. And the asa reg is very good to.
to answer the posters thread... just use HP

Not quite. You set yoru ASA to 170psi-200psi. Than you adjust the knob on the back of the mini with an allen key to adjust velocity. While adjusting the asa/reg would affect your velocity, that isn't the proper way to adjust your velocity.
Now I would highly highly highly reccomend a HP guerilla air myth. They are ~$250, but we be on top for a good time.

myth.. mmm cant wait to get mine in about a month. :D might buy a cp tank just to slap that reg on. have lightest tank out there

Sorry but I have to disagree with you. The adjustment on the back of the gun impacts the poppet movement. This is the recommended way to adjust velocity AFTER you have adjusted the mini reg in the ASA to register 200 psi on the gauge measuring the pressure entering the gun,

Wait what? Isn't that what I what I said in reverse order?:eyes:
I said Set asa to 200ishpsi than adjust back?
You said adjust back after you set your asa to 200psi?

Perhaps. I thought you were saying the adjustment at the back of the gun was a regulator adjustment.

Alright people, ANY tank will work on the mini, i recomend HP. the back of the gun is for velocity adjustment. regulator adjustment is on the ASA(which is attached to the grip frame). And the mini should operate at ~180-200psi.

the regulator is in the asa!!! all thats in the grip frame is the volume chamber and solenoid.

Why? Manike states that it will work BETTER with LP. I am NOT saying that it won't work with HP but LP will be more efficent, more consistant, and easier on the reg. (why its more consistant).

No, my shocker works perfectly fine on HP.

It'll perform virtually the exact same. We generally suggest using HP for all the reasons mentioned in this thread...ie, will work on any gun except a few Angels using their minireg, and guaranteed no tank-caused shootdown.
