my friend had a tigershark for 1 year and he used it a bunch. But in that year, he never oiled it, and never had a problem w/ it:confused:. It out lasted my m98, and Point zero 83:laugh:. I just bought it off him for $25, and today I polished the barrel. MAN what a difference. Now I think I will crown the barrel, and I don't know what next. Brass eagle really made a good gun hear. For you brass eagle haters out there, brass eagle isn't all bad. just 'cause the raptor isn't as good as a spyder shutter, or the avenger as good as a cocker, or a rainmaker as good as a angel, see what the price difference is between them all. I think most of us owe are interest in paintball to brass eagle. As for myself, I started w/ a Talon, and brass eagle paintballs. If you wanted to try paintball, but you didn't want to spend to much, I'm sure you were very glad to see a $30.00 pump, or a $60.00 semi.
Lets stop bashing brass eagle, and acknowledge the good things it has done. Think about it like this, if some kid want to try paintball, but he does not have very much money, and he hears us talking about dumb brass eagle, he might be to embarrassed to buy a cheap brass eagle marker, and just not play. how would you like that?

Yea, my friend's Stingray and Talon lasted for 2 years so far and they work. How did BE bashing start anyway?

Thank you guys. I'm glad that not all paintball players hate brass eagle:) As I said, I started with a talon, and that was 3 years ago. A half a year ago I sold the talon to my neighbor, and it's still working:eyepop: it even has out lasted my M98 custom:laugh:, same story w/ my friend.

BE bashing started because beyond the beginning rec player, their guns aren't going anywhere.
Granted some of their higher end stuff isn't too bad for rec play, but when you can get a spyder for the same price or less as some of BE's higher end stuff, go with whats proven.
Honestly, I think BE needs to redesign badly. They own JT, the can make some descent spyder clones from the Xcel 3.0 and 4.0.
While its true the player makes the gun, the gun helps.
BE may have turned around in the past few years, but when I was playing solid recball, 98% of the BE's I saw were inconsistent paint blenders. Yeah they last forever with little to no maintenence, but they are just not worth the money. You can get a bushmaster for the same price as a rainmaker, which will be alot more reliable, and give you alot more upgradability.
Brass Eagle pretty much screwed themselves early on. They didn't manage to squeeze quality in there. Durability yes, their guns will shoot reguardless, but they need to be consistent, and accurate, which I have yet to see a BE gun that is either of those.
I duno, if I was going to spend 350-400 on a gun and I was deciding between a rainmaker or em1 or spyder with an elcd, I'll go with the spyder. Its lighter, quieter, more accurate, more reliable, and its upgradable.
