I would recommend a Tippmann Custom 98. A little steep of a 100 dollars but it's worth it.

Things to remember about paintball:

Always wear your mask
Keep your marker well maintained and oil it regularly (treat it like your baby)
Don't do anything irisponsable to tarnish the sport of paintball's reputation
Keep a good supply of extra parts and o-rings

Almost nessisary upgrades for 98's: I'd get a 20 oz, and a better barrel, and get some pods and a holster (you can get 'em at walmart for like 6 dallors)

I'd recommend a refurbished Spyder Pilot ACS, It's $80, has an ACS bolt to prevent chops, dual ball detents to help prevent double feeds, and a electronic trigger frame capable of firing up to 20 BPS in semi-auto, and 13 BPS in 3-shot, 6-shot, and full-auto. Keep in mind it will need a faster loader such as a eVLution II. If you need comething cheaper or don't want an electro I'd get a cheap mechanical Spyder such as the Sonix, Xtra, Victor, or Victor II. They all perform about equally and are very upgradeable. Not to mention you can turn Spyders into a Bob Long Intimidator, or a high end EP marker by spending $140 for a Zip Kit.

The pilot like sonix said for $80.

Go for a Refurbished Pilot $80 and then get a Egg2 Hopper for $60.

i would say a tippman 98c just cuz it is reliable but is like $160 last time i checked, if it has to be under $100 then i would say a spyder or a phrana

Um, guys he said under 100 dollars right? That means he probably can't get a electro hopper, and afford the extra paint he will no doubt be slinging with his electro. A spyder is a great gun, durable, easy to strip down, and easy to fire. Look at a Sonix, 2006 Victor, or an X-tra. Those are the ones I'd get!

Yeah refubed pilot or a mech spyder would be nice. I wouldn't recommend a tippy personally it's something i regretted getting once i learned more.

Well $100 really won't get you much. You can get a 98 custom for $120.

Icons are rather okay for there price. You can get them for like 70 bucks at Wal Mart. A 16 or 20 oz will do the job.

And dont be an idiot and shoot your eye out.
Always wear a mask.

i'd say get a spyder of some sort that is what I started with. As far as important things to know about paintball there is only two in my book:

#1 always wear a mask, Be safe
#2 have fun, don't try to take it too seriously. just focus on having a good time.

What about those new Tippmann triumphs? They’re plastic yes but they are affordable and designed for entry level players in mind.

I like the Tippmann, I have always found them to be reliable, my first gun was a Tippmann 98 Coustom, I never had any problems with it.

refurb spyders are good. xtra. sonix. ACS. whatever works. just don't get an ion. you'd just be buying a label. they're slow and overrated.

Well I do hate the Ion but by no means is and electronic marker slow. Also an ACS isn't a gun, it's a bolt.

he said he has a limit of 100 bucks. anyway, like others, i wouldnt recommend anything complex to start with, so go with some kind of spyder marker like the ones listed above. They are a great beginner brand, i started with one, and still use it occasionally. also, it will get u used to the basics of maintaning a marker. maintaning my ion is easier due to this. its simple to do, but it gives you experience for future markers if you so choose. get whatever one you want, just look at the features of each. we can help you out if you dont understand.

If he was going a little higher than 100 Id recommend an Automag. The really reliable, tougher than tippmanns and the only thing that needs replacing is o-rings. The problem for mags as a starter/intermediate level gun is the very steep upgrade cost. But a 68 classic with level 10 could go for about 150 if you look hard enough. But if your not willing to spend that much get a 98 custom.

i have a pilot acs and a tippmann 98c. the pilot is more for if you wanna get into speed ball but i got a bunch of upgrades on it too. but the best beginners gun in my opinion is the tippmann 98c. you could beat that gun off a rock 80 times and it would still shoot(read my review on the tippmann98) very reliable. shoots great right out of the box. comes with everything you need to play for 130$ at a dicks sporting goods store or ebay.

Well $100 really won't get you much. You can get a 98 custom for $120.

I personnaly think that 98c are over rated, but im sure a lot of other people would argue with me, its just my personal opinion. But what about a Game Face Vexor Ready To Play Kit. It comes with every you need to play, and its only about $48 on Action Village. Mine has served me well. Its a fun marker to modify, and stuff, and plus, if you render it unuseable, its not like it was a lot of money. I actually modified mine to fire fully-automatically. It's a pretty simple mod if you have a good idea on how the vexor works.

You can get many electro spyders for under 100 and will all preform the same with the exception of a spyder with an acs bolt.
