Dwell?

What is this dwell you folk keep talking about? I have a shutter and all i know is the velocity adjuster in the back.

the dwell is the amount of time the valve on the impulse remains open-this helps to control impulse velocity, and is controlled by the amount of air sent to the hammer through the solenoid on the impulse. To adjust the dwell, an impulse user must adjust the dwell POT switch found behind a strip of rubber on the right hand side of the impulse trigger frame.
