I have posted about this problem of mine before but I never got an answer to the legal implications of it...

Anyway, I live in Canada and use a secluded area of a mountain-park for a target range... how illegal is this exactly?

If its a park its controlled property. Out in the woods no one care but in a park its different. Thats my guess. Sorry that Im not much help.

Its a forest. I dont think you'll have any legal problems unless you hit like a camper or something.

The land IS owned by someone. Whether an individual, company or the government. It really depends if you have permission to do so. But, I doubt anyone will really care, since paintball are biodegradeable and I assume you clean up after yourself and are kind to animals. However, if you do hit someone, and you aren't supposed to be on the land firing a projectile weapon, you are in deep ****.

Well the area is a small mountain, not really an official park. It has plenty of secluded bush zones and yes, I always clean up and have been trying to make my gun quieter.

If anyone of authority gives you a hard time politely apologize and leave. I practice where I used to shoot my BB guns when I was a kid. When there is anyone else around I stop. Paintball ricochets are unlikely, but why risk it?

I'd ask for permission from the ruling parties of the park. They'll prolly say no but the only way to make it legal is to get their permission.

Course you are in canada, but in CA, national forrest law is 600 feet from the road (that number is sketchy, but the law is true) and firing any projectile weapon is allowed.

Where did you find this out? I live in North CA and I havnt paled in the National forests cause I assumed it was illeagal....I wanna see this rule.

Unless it's changed you should be able to goto something like CDF website...Something. My Dad told me quite some time ago, his Dad was a cop and they used to go shooting all the time when camping and such. Think about it this way, hunters can hunt in any woods right? (not privately owned)

Snow is fun, but I hate being cold (thats why Im fat?!). Sounds like fun, just get way off the road and DONT SHOOT SKIERS.

BTW Long as your out of sight and out of hearing range and not being reckoless you won't have a problem, if you shoot a skier please don't ***** to me why you were arrested.

of cousre....one of the guys that got invited (nobody will admit who did) is kinda stupid and reckless, we said if he gets out of line well shoot him first ask "q"s later. The fear of force is far better than the actual use of force.

but really, i dont think anyone is going to care too much if you're paintballing on gov't property as long as you arent being stupid like shooting cars or what not
