vs2 would be as fast as your fingers can go... probably 12-14bps

ion can go up to 17bps in rebound mode

it really all comes down to how fast your marker can fire and how fast your loader can feed

15 bps<---- the majority of feilds I've ever played at limit you to this. and as far as a vs2 or ion they have no problems shooting at those speeds.

Most people can shoot about 15 bps, give or take, with a proper, semi and completly legal gun.

Fixed. Most people can't outshoot their markers, it's more limited by the players speed, if you're talking legitimate semi.

The only things restricting BPS are, your fingers, your loader, the field limit, the cap of the board, and how fast your marker is capable of cycling. Yeah most people can't outshoot their marker. I know I can outshoot my Revvy with ease now. Yay CAMD 2.0 frames! Boo for slow feeding hoppers!

In game it's pretty rare to see people shooting much or any faster than 16 in strict semi, but it's been done. I think Lasoya shot 22 over a chrony back in the day, but that's kind of irrelevant.

It's plausible to spike up to 18 with a lot of practice and a little effort, and if he was testing this over a big red, all he needs is 3 consecutive shots at 18 bps.

At about 32BPS balls start comeing out of the barrel right next to eachother any faster and they hit in the barrel when one slows down due to porting and another is still going fast.

Most high ends cannot exced 28 BPS.

Uncapped, IT'll shoot as fast as your fingers pull the trigger (Semi).

"Rebound" mode on an ion will get you to around 17 bps.

20-30 bps is more then possible, especially with a new board.

I've never seen any proof of an ion shooting 30 bps. 27 Maybe, but definately not 30. The only markers I've ever seen proof of shooting 30+ is the BL onyx and any macdev cyborg. I'd believe maybe new DM's and angels too, but def. not an ion. show me a goldwave of an ion shooting that fast and I'll believe you.

Mags can hit 36+ bps. Most knock open guns can get in excess of 30 too, properly upped.

Edit: I'm sorry, 34 BPS on a mag has been documented. I'm sure they can shoot faster.

wrong. 40 bps is very possible, and many people have done it. and almost EVERY highend can do it.i don't know about spool valves though (anybody know?) and paint isn't going to start running into itself in the barrel at 50 bps. for that to happen, you need to be going much faster. my dad did some calculations the other day, and he said the physical limit on bps was in the low-mid one hundreds. but that is assuming that you have a very short barrel......

the fact that the viking has not been mentioned in this forum yet is just appalling.

"pingpings" have been known to cycle well past 80 (and i have heard of 100, but i haven't seen proof yet.). but those were isolated incidents.

Let us not go down this road again..... You're right wnning is never directly related to how much paint you shoot. It is directly related to hitting your opponent first, whether that takes 1 or 15 is merely a matter of playing style.

On topic, I have been trying to get back in the rhythm for my first semi only tournament in over a year. Currently holding at 13-14 bps with either hand. Sucks to get rusty at walking the trigger.:eyes:

Besides, Mags were tested once to be able to shoot up around there. I forget the video but they tested it with a q-loader and they got some ridiculous BPS. Granted there were a lot of breaks and chops, but still. You'll pardon me for not having the video on hand, but anyone that's been on the internet during paintball's evolution remembers the video I'm speaking of.

im talking true blue competitive paintball. i'm not flaming, i'm just correcting a statement. people dont just shoot all that paint for nothing, and its not a "waste".

Having played NYXL games and games against walkons with spyders... paint throwing has it's place, but it's not absolutely necessary for a win.

And you are flaming. Quit it.

Nope, correcting. paint throwing is pretty necessary to win tournament games, you know its true when the only pump team in NPPL has their backmen use electros. paintthrowing is necessary, its how you contain people.
