View Full Version : Important Warning For Actionvillage.com Users!!!

If you ever use actionvillage.com links to show other people cool products online, BEWARE! It makes it very easy for them to steal your info and possibly your account if you forget to logout before cutting and pasting links. You see, the whole site relies on a very specific url structure, which is a MAJOR coding flaw, as it keeps you logged in through that link, opening you up to all kinds of mischeif.

I believe this should be made a sticky. Mods, if you see this, please sticky this thread and close it too if you so desire.

No no, keep it here. If this is serious enough to get stickied then at least sticky it in a forum with some traffic.

Crap. I posted a link like that, though thankfully I was showing my girlfriend a shirt I was considering buying. I sent it through MSN so there shouldn't be a problem. I'm sure AV will get this fixed ASAP.

Nice info...I always logg out when I'm done purchasing or just viewing items...

this has been known for a long time. AV wont fix this unless itll come out as an update for their coding. they would have to completely redo their logon part of their site, which would cost a ton of money and downtime.

I thought AV automatically logs off your account when you're done shopping?

It does for me at least...

This can happen with many sites, not just AV. Just to be on the safe side, it is always a smart idea to log off whatever site it may be before you post a link. But theres no need to sticky, that should be common internet knowledge.
