i just got an a5 and love it. i play mainly woodsball and was wondering if an ops gear 18" sniper barrel would be worth it. i plan on getting that along with a drop forward.
is there anything else that would help in woodsball?
anyone have a good place for sights?

it would be worth it but if yout gonna be a sniper get the apex or flatline. as for the drop that would be good also. if you really want to go sniper get a remote. you could also get some camo, like a mask ,custom marker job and camo clothing. but thats only my opinion, hope it helps.

I second the remote idea. I think the 18" barrel is a little overkill.I could be wrong, but i don't think the extra length actually helps accuracy. I would suggest HPA or a stabilizer if you like CO2.

16" barrel at the most. Get a good brand like CP or J&J. Don't get a drop, it'll mess up your balance. Look into Unimounts or CP On/Offs. Remotes are all preferance, use one and your gun will be impossible to shoulder. Whatever you do, try and steer clear of stocks. They do nothing but add weight and make your shooting stance longer.

Dont get a remote for serious woodsball it just gets tangled in branches.

Don't waste your time with a flatline, not as great as they are made out to be... I also have an a5 and the 16" made by tippmann is great...

Its really all prefrance about what you want on it. there really isnt one thing that all woodsball guns have. I would suggest about a 14in barrel, something bead blasted so that it will hold up to the rigors of tough play and still look good. The lapco bigshot is the only bead blased barrel i know of but im sure there are lots more. I would stay away from anyting shiny.
If you really want a milsim looking gun for woodsball then i would get a stock, but if you dont i would stay away from them. They are good for distace shooting when used with a proper front grip, but if you get in a up close firefight you might as well just walk off. Keep your air on you gun if you use a remote without a stock it makes shooting the gun exetremely awkard.
Just play with it awhile and look at what you need with everything EXCEPT the barrel i would suggest replaceing the barrel right out of the box. If you need a higher rate of fire buy and e-grip or response. Like others have said if you need a better air system get stab or HPA. You can get what you want , but i would keep it pretty bare bones because the better part of upgrades do very little.

If you want it to look really sweet and preform well get a 14 and a shroud from ops gear or spec ops. Sights dont help all much when it comes to distace the best thing you could do it learn how to aim down the gun.

You won't look bad ***, you'll look like a noob. Seriously, I laugh at people like you at the field.
Don't get a sight either, just get better shooting your gun and it will be muscle memory.

i use 14..but i agree...18 is a little much. it just slows ur paintball down.
if u want accuracy longer barrels dont perform better than shorter ones. its paint to bore match. ive seen 12 inch barrels hit on a dime while the 21 inch "sniper" ones shoot all ofer the place.
if u insist on getting an 18...try to find one...and find a paint that fit perfectly in it...then ull be fine....or somehow try to find an 18 inch barrel kit.

Im new here and new to pb, I play woodsball and the places we play have a bunch of shrubs and branches, I couldnt imagine using anything over 14in. Anything more would just get caught up on branches. Also the fact that there wouldnt be enough room to use that much barrel unless you can shoot through branchs.
