On both my Raven Nuvis and JT nVader, the visor provides additional coverage to the wearer's forehead. But mainly, they keep the sun outta your eyes.

Paint will bounce off a visor. Paint doesnt bounce so good on your forehead. If a ball doesnt break, you're still in the game, and therefore a visor can keep you in the game longer

your right but what are the chances a paintball will hit your forhead? any person would duck if they see someone shooting at them. I see some of your point twitch but is it really worth it?

visors seriously protect u'r head alot better, and if u ever play in the rain u'll be one of the only guys on the field who can see. It helps me when i'm out on a speedball field with the sun glarin down on my position.

How often do you get hit in the visor? Well if you're shooting correctly, the only hits you should ever get when you arent moving or are flanked should be either on your goggles, your gun, or your hands. Maybe a few on the edge of your shoulder. The majority of the hits I take are on my mask, and a good portion of those end up on my visor. So I'd say the chances of gettin hit in the forehead are extremely high

You're right about instinctly ducking when paint is flying your way, but alot of times when you duck you tend to drop you head which brings you visor down and it might catch some paint that would normally gog ya and possibly cause the paint to bounce. I have already gotten lucky before and got hit in the visor and had it bounce. It just increases your chances of getting paint to bounce, sorta like a neoprene hopper cover, plus i think my spectras look alot better with the visor.
