Alright, well i recieved a empire 7 piece barrel kit. The barrel was already assembled with the .684 insert on it. I cannot seem to get it off. I know its a two piece because it has the whole kit, and when i look down the barrel, i can see the gap where the O-Ring is.
I have tried twisting it using a gripy cloth, putting it in a vice, and everything. Still no luck. I put the barrel on my gun, sat on the tank, and twisted the back while my dad twisted the front, still no luck!
Iv never had any problems with my other barrels like this, its really wierd. Some people on PBN said it might have come glued. who knows?!??!
Does anyone have this same problem? Can anyone lead me into the right direction/give me a number i can call?
Thanks.

It's not glued, the oring is probably caught in the threads or just really tight against the back and front. try running some hot water over it and using a strap wrench or vice grip.
Good luck, stuck barrels suck.

Run the back under cold water for a while. The cold will cause the aluminum to expand, and break loose an airseal on the threads. Also try using some paintball oil on it where the back meets the front.
I can usually get my stuck backs and fronts apart doing a combination of those two, along with a pair of strap wrenches (and preferably a third hand to help).

Ummmm cold causes it to shrink, heat will cause it to expand.

get two strap wrenches, and get your dad or a friend to use one to twist one way while you go the other way.
its a worthwhile investment. eventually you'll need to take off a feedneck or take apart a regulator and you'll need one or two strap wrenches again. and when you need two strap wrenches, you REALLY need two strap wrenches.

heh, yeah....good point. Thats what I get when I post without being to bed all night, get stuff turned around.
Thanks much for the correction
So.....under the corrected info, run cold water on the Front, instead of the Back. Unless, the back threads into the front, instead of the front into the back. (whichever side has the male threads is what you'd wanna shrink down).
