Hey guys...as you may or may not know, I own Mike's Custom Paintball, a custom 'gun shop. I was thinking (which is a bit abnormal for me), and I had a nice little idea: how about milling Tippmann bodies? Keep in mind, this wouldn't be starting until a few months from now, but just a heads up.

PROPOSED PRICES:

MCP Milled Body: $80
X-Treme Milled Body: $90
Crazy 8 Milled Body: $105

Powdercoated and Milled Bodies:

MCP: $130
X-Treme: $140
Crazy 8: $155

Let me know what you think...if I can get enough good responses, I will start on a prototype.

By the way, I can also build new Tippmanns from scratch using these bodies.

Grrr, one more thing.

I will mill already existing bodies for $45.

Would help if there's pictures, real or computer generated, to demonstrate what the mill job will look like.

I would definately be interested in a custom milled 98 body. I've looked for sites with such a thing and had no luck. I would like to see what you can do.

Or sketch some up on either paint, or "professionally" on photoshop (as in computer drawings).

Just to give an idea.

Hey guys,

Taking into consideration that I'm computer-illiterate (for the most part), can somebody PM me or tell me here where I can get Photoshop? Is it free? I have Paint, so I suppose I could do that...anyways, it'd probably be best to talk in PM, so the mods don't get pissed.

Photoshop costs about 100$ or so. You could draw them by hand and just scan and post 'em.

or you could do like most machine shops and take pictures of some of the jobs youve done, then scan em on

Why would you advertise another company in somebody elses' thread like that?

Oh right, I forgot, B.S. doesn't have morals so they don't care.

No, that's alright...the one's there are really...er...DINKY, I suppose is the word. That's not milling, it's going at the body with a drill and a saw. Although, advertising in my thread was pretty damn cold...

FYI, the Mike's Custom Paintball brochures will be available in a week or so...to preorder one, simply email me at mikey1051@hotmail.com, and I'll send you the online version. The hard copies won't be available for a good 3-4 weeks, but the online one is nice, anyways. PRICE UPDATE: I will be milling existing Tippmann bodies for $45, and will sell already milled 98 Custom bodies for $85 and $95, depending on the pattern (X-Treme and Crazy-8). Milling services will begin sometime around Summertime, so look for it then. I also will start trigger jobs for mechanical markers (Spyder, Piranhas, etc.) and even the MAGNETIC trigger job for 'Mags (extremely sweet) in late March/early April. Check out the site (www.custompb.cjb.net) every once in a while for updates nd look at the brochure for prices...

FYI...MCP will have 98 Customs with milled gills, magnetic trigger, and flame, lightning or custom engraving on the sides for $185 in a couple of months.

May I suggest against the milled gills and instead get a ported metal elbow? Not only will they both do the same function, but the 'milled gills' version is quite loud.

Yeah, but milled gills look cool! :P

what is with these magnetic triggers for the mag?

Meph

Ok... how do you plan on milling the gills of something that has no gills?

PaintballerX
03-22-2002, 11:54 AM
No, it means milling gills into it.

Meph

Milling them all the way through to see the bolt move and vent blowback gass like the idea on www.m98center.com , or milling it to look like gills on the original Model 98?

*Also, I suggest a quick-strip modification milling done. That would be a really nice plus, and would actually do something that's not cosmetic but rather helps field-stripability.

M98center.com-esque gills.

That's an incredibly good idea! You get 50% of the profits! J/K :)

Have any pics of the quick strip bolt mod?

I have completed 3 Q-S Mag. trigger 98C's, and 5 Q-S bodies, but yet I STILL CAN'T GET MY CAMERA TO WORK! BAH!

I'll have 'em up soon, be patient :)

I'd just like to thank Meph for the great idea with the quick-strip bolt mod. It was a GREAT thing, and I've had a ton of positive responses from the guns I've done it to. Thanks again! BTW, if ever you feel the need for one of my services...PBR members get 10% off already, I'll give you 25% (Meph)... ;) THANKS!

now thats something i would pay good money for to have
because i HATE chopping a ball in the breech and having to take apart your whole gun just to get the goo of the bolt
it sucks especially if you're on the field and you'll have to cope with 30-50% accuracy loss because of it
