Hey, i recently got an intimidator full force 2.0 bolt for my TES. The bolt is great and works well, but the only problem is there was no locking ball for the stock TES pin. So currently the pin is just sitting in the bolt not secured down and if i fire too fast it starts to come out. Any ideas how i can secure it in there?

Hiyas Shadow-
YIKES!!! That is NOT a good situation you've got going there.
Is the bolt threaded for a lug screw to hold the ball detent and spring in place? (thats what holds the pin in the bolt).
Do you have the stock bolt? If so, you should be able to take the ball and detent out of the stock bolt, and put it into your timmy bolt. Tho, the ball might pop out while the pin isnt in there. And you Might have to run to a hardware store to find a grub screw that will fit the threading on your bolt.
Tho, to be honest, you can use any kind of ball bearing or even a jewelry bead, as long as it will fit down into the channel in the bolt for it, and be able to stick out of the hole against the pin. Same with the spring. If you can find one small enough in diameter, you can cut a pen (writing utensil) spring down (about half an inch to 1 inch long, depending on the bolt), and stick it in there.
You DEFINITELY wanna get that taken care of as soon as possible. Without that detent in there, if the pin wiggles out of the striker, the bolt can fly loose. If it's on the back stroke when that happens it can fly out and hit you in the mask or face! If it's on the forward stroke when it happens, it could shoot forward and become lodged in the breech or barrel.

Thanks for the replies. I tried the stock bolts detent and none of it fits. So i went around looking for for the parts. I found a spring out of a pen like you suggested that will work. Now i just need the ball bearing and screw. I tried a .177 caliber BB and that still was too big. My dad can get the screw from his work, but the ball bearing is a problem. Do you think it would be possible to drill the hole a bit?

Shadow- no problem at all :)
kinda depends on the bolt. If you can get a drill in there, without messing up the threads for the grub screw, most definitely. Or if your dad can rethread the bolt for a larger screw.
I'm not familiar with the bolt that you have, but MOST bolts arent hollow all the way thru, so you Might not be able to drill it out, going from the front of the bolt. Meaning that going in from the back of the bolt is Probably the only way you can go in.
and as long as your bearing or bead gets enough surface area to securely hold that pin in (pin should have either a groove in it, or a couple of dimples where the ball fits into it) you'll be fine.
Just try to keep the hole small enough that almost half the bearing can poke thru, but not run all the way thru the hole. I've got a bolt that is like that, and I FEAR loosing the spring and detent everytime I take the pin out.

Ok, so i drilled and threaded the back of the bolt to match the stock one. But i have to get a new screw because the thread tap i used had different threads than the stock screw. So im just waiting on getting the new screw then ill be set. Ill post pics when im done.
