Okay, I've seen a lot of different questions about advice on what to buy, where to get it, and similar things.
But one thing I haven't found is an answer to a simple question: How do you get started?
If someone is interested in playing painball, but doesn't know anyone or anyplace, what should he do? How do you find other players? How do you find experienced players that might be willing to give you tips plus your first experience?

Being here is the best start! So let me be one of the first to welcome you to what I believe to be the "Best Paintball Site" available to mankind! I came here about a year ago and never left. These forums opened my eyes to alot of different ideas in and around this great sport.
I see you're from North East Pencil-tucky. You might what to go check out the North East Regional forum to see if there are other people from your location as well as fields or shops. A word of warning though. I've heard the mod over there is,.... well how should I put it?... Slightly twisted? (you've be warned!)If in fact there is a field or someone can recommend a place near you to play, go and try it out. Rentals are a great way to see if this sport is for you. If you're at all the the other 7 thousand plus members here, you'll be hooked too!
Use the front page to review items that you think you might be interested in obtaining. There are a ton of great products available. Just be careful and read over peoples comments, (the staff here is working on cleaning out some of the junk that the local idiots have thrown in there) I've found most of the things I've purchased by using these same reviews.
Finally, once you've really been out and played post questions, concerns or just observations back here and share your experiences with us. We'll be glad to hear from you!
The *****Kat just sumed it up. Couldn't say it better myself!
Seithman, that is an excellent question. I was interested in paintball for a while but never knew how I would get involved. Then, I saw a notice on a campus-wide email bulletin that a student here at my college was starting a team and wanted all players, including newbies, to meet so we could schedule regular trips to the fields around here. I had never played at all, so I showed up with a million questions and an open mind. The cool thing is, usually experienced players have a gun or two they can lend you, so you can try it for a day without having to pay $30+ to rent everything. Do you go to high school, college, etc.? Is there some kind of campuswide bulletin or bulletin board where you can find other paintballers? If you simply dont know ANYONE who has gone, gather up a group of your friends and you can all rent guns and masks and you can see if you enjoy it or not. At least it won't be miserable, since all your friends are there. Good luck, hope I've helped.
