View Full Version : Rainmaker or EM1???
The Raider Man!
02-27-2002, 07:56 AM
I posted this in the Kingman forum, and I got a whole bunch of votes for the EM1. Now I'm posting this here, to see what response I get. So here's the question. What is better, the Brass Eagle Rainmaker, or the Kingman EM1? I only want replies from people who have at least tried one.
EM1 is faster more consistant more upgradable and is built more solidly. And to top it off the EM1 is backed by a better company.

EM1 hands down. but neither of these are great guns, buy an Impulse or something for almost the same price, and youll get SO much more

xscyclone,
why are u in here? all u are doin is givng a respectible company, a name in which it does not deserve. the rainmaker looks like a
SICK gun. i have never personally fired it, and i doubt u have because u base everything on speculation. i have owned 3 brass eagle products and they never had problems when maintained.
ignorance is tool of a fool.
the rainmaker gets my vote.

that rainmaker is one of the sickest looking markers I have ever seen. I have never fired a rainmaker or an Em1, I'm sure both are decent markers though.

well, dont say something about me before you even get to know me, specter542. i sometimes fill in part time at a paintball shop. i do know what i'm talking about. and i'm not basing this on looks or reputation alone. i have probably shot ever model and make gun, with the exception of the bran new and rare stuff.
the rainmaker may LOOK like a "sick gun," but you should never base an opion on performance by how someting looks. or..."dont judge a book by its cover."
ive shot severl rainmakers, and they arnt worth the boxing they come in. they are very inconsistant, not very fast, and not accurate at all. you can't even upgrade them unless you get custom parts made with the exception of a barrel.
and look whos talking, "I" base everything on speculation!? you even said yourself that you havent even shot a rainmaker, but you say its better than an em1. hmm....
from my experience with several of both models, the em1 performes better and last longer than the rainmaker. but seriously, youd be better off not owning either of these guns.

that gun looks like crap. EM1 outshoots rainmaker anyday of the week. beter accuracy consistincy and looks. BUT SERIOUSLY THOUGH THAT GUN LOOKS LIKE CRAP UP THERE. AND YOU HAVNT SHOT A EM1 OBVIOUSLY.

Well....the rainmakers I've shot were godly.......I'm not gonna reccomend either one though since I don't have experiance with an Em-1. I'll just say that I was impressed by the Rainmaker.

They are stopping the making of the em1 so you might not find that many upgradeable parts later on. From my experience I think the rainmaker cuz they say it has a brain. I can talk to my paintball gun about girls. hehehe

Yeah I would go with the EM1
IromKnight
04-01-2002, 07:20 PM
you'd have to upgrade the piss out of a rainmaker to get it anywhere near a stock EM1.

Hey im from the spyder forums and on a spyder my self. They are really nice i think.. Id go with the EM1...but thats my OP:D

EM1. The rainmaker is a fabulous gun for Brass Eagle but it still has a bad company backing it (who don't answer their e-mails). The EM1 is also alot more upgradeble than the Rainmaker and they are not going to stop making the EM1. And for the record all electros have a "brain".

with out a doubt, EM-1
I've shot both, and to tell you guys the truth, the BE isn't that bad. It just that the reputation of the company biases our judgement on the product.
However, the EM-1 is without a doubt the better of the two

I think the rainmaker is better cuz it is not a blow back. I had some bad experiences with blow backs.

Neither is the EM1. Remember as elTwitcho put it think before you post.

Get the EM1 it performs better and is more upgradible. And the Rainmaker looks like a Autococker that got beat with the ugly stick.

Yeah, Thats my Rainmaker. I also shoot a Custom Angel LED, with Rock LPR, 98 Shocker S/F, and 2k Cocker. I use my Rainmaker over all of those guns, Why? because I play mid, I need a fast, accurate gun that never chops. The rainmaker is loud, even more loud with a lapco barrel but its also the most accurate barrel out, Since my team is sponsered by Lapco we use lapco barrels. Stock RMs arent super great guns, I bought one after I sold my upgraded t98 and Vm-68. A stock RM is a perfect Rec gun. For tournaments you might want to get upgrade to a Galeforce circuit board, Aftermarket reg, and bolt. Then your set. Upgrade wise, here is a small list of the upgrades you can get (also note more then 1 company makes these) Triggers, trigger switches, circuit boards, Mac mounts, Bolts, Valves, Rams, LP fittings, Backblocks, front blocks,SS internals, and adapters to use different gripframes. Dont give me any crap about not being able to upgrade the gun. I own the Rainmaker Owners group, and own every upgrade made for the RM, and there are ALOT of upgrades.
For people saying RMs are not tournament guns, I am on 2 sponsored paintball teams, and yes i use my RM. The team sponsored by Lapco and Paintball inc, we have 3 RM users on the team(and 2 angel owners, and 1 emag)
Here is a list of upgrades on my RM
Lapco Bigshot, Lapco Autospirit, Lapco 2hole mag vert adapter, Lapco Cupseal,AA Vigilante, ANS Jackhammer 2, BMW blade trigger, BMW trigger switch, BMW safety, BMW Highflow Delrin Bolt, BMW macmount, Dropzone SS bolt link, Exarin Galeforce, Eclipse Bushmaster Highrise, GDD backblock, GDD milled boltcover, GDD Highflow LP fittings, Highflow Valve stem, Milled and polished ram, Dye Stickies, Dye Micro gauge, Shocktech Cradle, dynaflow 68/45
here is an updated picture of it

The guy, scott, above me, plays at my home field some, [not alot anymore, lol, :D ] But ive seen this guy play, and ive seen this gun shoot. AMAZING. SEE WHAT YOU CAN DO TO A RAINMAKER?? Please, dont bash BE, i dont use any BE products, but u can turn anything into a tournament quality gun, PROOF IS HERE, in the pictures and on the field!!

First of all, yes they EM1 is discontinued and you can find it only at a couple of online websites. The rainmaker is much cheaper and much more durable. Spyders suck and so does the em-1. I have shot both. Plus the EM-1 can only be used on nitro and that aint good for ppl who don't have the money. The EM-1 has to many bells and whistles on it. Full-auto- not allowed in tourneys
3 round and 6 round burst- not allowed
turbo- allowed in some
Who really needs all that stuff on a gun. In tourneys all you will be shooting is semi and the rainmaker is a great gun for that. It gets 14 shots a second and is very durable and is accurate with a new barrel. Get the rainmaker

Not many people realize it, but the Rainmaker's stock barrel is one of the best kept secrets in paintball. It's a rediculously quiet barrel, and the design of the barrel is VERY forgiving to dimpled paintballs. Using a barrel of the same design, the Eagleworks Raptor Barrel, I am capable of shooting a 12 inch group at 45 feet using BE paintballs. Sounds sacreligious? Yes it does, but I can do it. On an unregulated co2 setup, stock everything minus the barrel, and open bolt Raptor. The Rainmaker's stock barrel is excellent, If you have a cocker it's good for those field-paint-only fields that use ****ty paint.

the reason the rainmaker barrel is very forgiving to dempled paintball is because the probably made it to shoot brass eagle paint and be paint sucks and has lots of demples in it.and dont say i dont know what i am talkin about cuz i was a dumb***** one time and bought them to test out my new upgrades.

MAN!:pissed: what are you thinking??? the rainmaker is nothing compared to the EM1 except that it is really cheap. the EM1 shoots alot faster, lasts alot longer,is more upgradeable,is made by a more trustworthy company, and last do you or did u ever see pros using the rainmaker?:biglaugh:

OMG! i juss tested my friends RM today and amazingly it shot REALLY WELL! Now i think that it is better than the EM1 but it shoots slower than the EM1. the RM is not a bad gun, i am gonna buy one for myself soon because it shoots so well! MAN it can almost compare to a cocker, ALMOST, cuz it is closed bolt.

lol $80 lol
brasseagle paint at walmart $16.00
good paint rps marbelizers $18.00
good paint pmi premiums $15.00
all cost between $15.00 and $20.00....the brasseagle cheap paint is more than the quality paint pluss the brasseagle paint has been rotting in walmart sinse the last year.

im talkin about a whole case. the paint prices at my feild are overpriced because that's where they make their money. a case of any good RPS paint is 80. proball is 65.

At my field they charge $60 for a case of premiums....well its a club if that makes any diffrence.
Murph1
06-10-2002, 02:15 PM
My local field is RP Premium only. But the Eagleworks barrels obviously love em more than they do the BE. As accurate as any cocker on the field, just less consistent on velocity. You get what you pay for.

I personaly have not shot either gun so i did not vote. What suprises me is all the people that dis the rainmaker on the looks and brand name alone. If i had the ugliest gun in the world but it was the best i would freaking take it, but it seems like some of these guys would take a piece of **** over an angel if it looked better.

A closed bolt design is useless without the use of magical gnomes (such as those that come stock in Smart Parts and WGP markers). You can also do some Satanic rituals to get the same increase in performance, but I believe this involves the sacrifice of a black cat and, in some case, the selling of ones soul.
Why is everyone upset about the quality of Brass Eagle paint? Has no one stopped to take into consideration the fact that most of that paint has been living on a Wal-Mart shelf for half a year? What do you expect?

I just think all this stuff about Brass Eagle being a bad company is propaganda. If all you people all hate Brass Eagle so much and all their products suck then why do you use VL Revolutions? Or Jt Goggle systems? Cause surely their products must suck if Brass Eagle sucks since they are owned by BE.

Personally i dont think a rainmaker is that good but seeing that guy:eek:, also brass eagle is supposed to make affordable products. Ive heard the Rainmaker is decent but the EM1 has a rep. U should buy whatever u want cuz if u bought what everyone else does ur prolly picking the spyder.
