what exactly is the A-5. A more beefed up tippmann or something? Does it have the body style of the 98 custom?

Well to see the A-5 look in the A-5 picture thread that was put up. You can see pictures of it. The need feed on it is really big and has a propeller to make sure the balls keep feeding. It also looks like it is rear cocking. It looks pretty cool and the stock barrel looks kinda neat but I dought it will be any good... Anyways no body knows alot about it accept Tippmann.

This is a little pre-mature considering hardly any of us have actualy used the a-5 yet to compare it to something else.

im not trying to flame u dude, but this thread is pointless. the gun isn't even available yet and ur asking for its credebility.... think. like what mester.. or whatever his Sn is, i forgot, its to early to say whether or not it will live up to Tippmann's reputation.

Hey, you do know that there are some very lucky people LIKE ME that got to use it already. If you hear about a tourny or big game and see the tippy truck or tent, pull over. They will most likley have one there. Its light than the M98C I know for sure (they had it so you could compare the markers) heres a pic

To me, This gun won't perform lika M98 and won't be as reliable. But, the way they designed it, there can be even more addons than are available for a spyder for this gun. I think itll be pretty good and I might get one, but im always stayin with my F/A and My M98C

Quick stats:
Body: Cam Shell, MP5 mold
Barrel: 10" stock, Pro/Carb threads
Grip: M-16 Style, Removable
Trigger: Hyper Shot 2 ( 2 lbs instead of 3)
Style:Side cocking/rear cocking Blowback
ASA: Vertical and Bottomline setups
Sight: MP5 sight sustem w/ beavertail
Feeder: Tippman's Prototype feeder(off the F/A)and the special hopper
Foregrip: MP5 (Very Comfy but at an odd angle so it feels funny at first if your used to a M98)
Addons: Unknown

If you read it carefully it said "Do you THINK the A-5 will be better then the Model 98 custom?"

When will it come out? Do you know if it will cost more than the 98?

I read somewhere on here an estimated price range but im not 100% sure what it was. I think it was around 600 bucks.

I rather get an autococker! Not sure how its performance will bw so don't flame me. It lots like a c98 so it must perform quite similarly.

Actually, I know it'll probably be better, since I know almost everybody who either shot it, and some people who built the whole design.

Completely enclosed bolt system, field strip-able in less than 60 seconds, 16bps feed rate w/ no misfeeds or chops, anti-jamming system in the hopper, both removable grips, fully adjustable sight that works rather well, stock pro/carb threads but later can 'change', lighter and smaller than a 98... et cetera. I can keep going but you get the idea. This is a small description.

looks like they're using the SAME EXACT valve as the 98/98c

you can tell by the length of the marker body

as well as the barrel placement.

Assassin, no. The front top is the cocking slot. I've enclosed a picture. It's just like a Psycho Ballistics Rocket Cock. You cock it back, push it back forward. It stays in place, keeping the bolt enclosed, and removing any external moving parts.

Ronin, yes. It uses the CVX valve.

**In this pic, see that little knob on the front top of the gun, that's the cocking knob. After cocking the gun, it doesn't move.

What is the rear pin/ring? Is it a secondary cocking?

I see it on the real steel as well, but I have not heard a deffinitive description of it.

At least it looks like tippmann's finally put a vertical ASA adapter on the gun, stock, instead of making you spend twenty more bucks and tearing your gun apart to install it. Now all you'd have to do is screw in your x-chamber or reg, like on nearly every other gun made. It's not a big deal, just a nice convenience thing.
