Anyone own a marker that is powder coated, or have pictures of one. I'm probably getting a pc setup for working and restoring the cars I have but I think it would be sweet on markers. Hell, powder coating is hard as a rock and you can get alot of colors.
Plz post any pictures of ones you know of

I think the stock cocker bodies are powder coated but I not sure.

Ummm, I don't think thats powder coating. I've seen pics of one...green spyder or something. I guess they could be powder coated, but I don't think stock cockers are.

I think they are, infact pretty sure, I know the newer colored ones aren't but I think the stock black is. but then again I could be wrong.

you know you could be right. I've seen alot of nice powder coat finishes though, that wouldn't be what I would to. Ya, your probably right, those durable finishes on there.

Nope! The black cockers have a "Satin" annodized finish, the body underneath is smooth byut was not polished to a nice shine and that is why the annodizing appears to have a flat finish to it. The same can be found on the Pro-Team Sleeper F/X Autocockers, only in color as well.

cockers are not powder coated! powder coating ugly? if it's not done by a professional then yes. I have seen several markers that have been powder coated, and they look very nice! you cant tell the difference, very glossy, and durable. The only way you can really tell, is because of the weight, it'll make your marker heavier.
if you get someone to PC your gun, im not going to lie to you. if they do a not so professional job... a messed up powder coating is downright nasty! there could be runs, or missed spots, certain areas might be coated more then others.
2k1AngelShooter, if you want an idea of what power coating can look like, take a look at the BE picture thread. I posted a pic of a VL Genesis that we sent out to get powder coated for a customer

Exactly how does one go about powder coating something, i read the article on how to anodize and was wondering if there's one on powder coating?

You need a decent amount of equipment to powder coat. You need to negatively charge (or maybe it was positive) the part to be coated. Then you cover it with the actual powder coat, which is like a type of plastic. Then you put it in an oven and bake the coating on. This melts the coating onto the marker and it then solidifies. It's actually extremely difficult to do, probably more difficult than a home job for single color annodizing

Actually it's not really that hard, provided you have the space and an oven. I've done it on car parts w/ a friends powdercoater, boy it does do a nice job. Eastwood automotive supplies offers nice entry level system for under 200 dollars. You can find an oven used just about anywhere, I do because I own a cabinet shop and am always offered old ovens. Nice thing is I have a spray booth and all kinds of goodies to play with (beadblaster, some stuff to do minor milling ect).

Main thing is, just attention to details and taking your time. I really am growing on powder coating markers, I like that yellow Genisis (the PC not the gun itself, I don't want people bi***ing over BE stuff in the thread).
Hmmm, tommy likey

that is exactly how it's done. it's pretty cool how they do it if you think about it. because of the negative charge the powder gets attracted to the body like a magnet.
Im not too sure, if they can do it. But the shop we went through to PC the genesis, only did single color. i can imagine multi colored power coating to be difficult, im not sure though.
