So, I am going to upgrade from my victor II, after catching the love for paintball and learning basic disassembly, etc. Is the Rex Type-R a good choice, since it's 140 bucks for a high end:eek:
But, the fact is if it is terrible beyond belief, then that is 140 bucks wasted on a "high end" Also, it has bounce-beam eyes, is that a problem? I heard that those are not as effective as break. Anyway, I have read the reviews, but does anyone own a Type-R, or have owned one? So, yes or no?

Either that, or the wrath. You can get them both for the same price, and they are basically the same performance wise. Whatever you like better.

The wrath is 140 now? Last time I checked it was 200...

They're ok guns but i'd recommend looking into getting a used ion.

No ions. No ions. And guess what? No ions. Not because I have heard bad things about them, but because too many people have them, and the stereotype now is that ion owners are, well, jerks. Meh, I want something not many people have anyway, at least not something that alot of people have.

Yeah there are a lot of ions and a few nitwit ion owners that give the rest of us a bad name but still it's a nice gun w/o a doubt. You could always get a new shell to make it look different. But to be honest in you're price range a used ion would be the best choice. It's either that or save up for a lasoya promaster. You'd be better off saving the extra and getting the lasoya over the rex and ion.

Lots of people have them for a reason. Not because they're junk, but because they're quality markers. Break the stereotype, be a nice player. Also, $140 high-end gun = not gonna happen. Spend the extra $60 for a marker that's 100 times better.

Well, I got a Wrath LTD for $170, so I would imagine a normal one should be around $150.

Whoa my friend. 100? Comparing an LPRless spool valve to a FASOR. Nuh uh. Both are comperable, and it comes down to Spool vs. Poppet.

I know it may not be easy, but it would be much better in the long run if you were to save up and get a better gun. If you absolutely need a new gun right now, then the Type-R is a good choice. The bounce-beam eyes aren't as good as break beam, but will still by all means suffice. Halo B's use bounce beam eyes, and look how popular those are.

I know you say no Ions, but its still a good direction to turn to since they are nice guns for a low price, and you can get upgraded Ions for dirt cheap nowadays. However the route I would take is get a Lasoya Promaster. I know they're $200+ASA/macro/fittings which can bring you up to $240. I know its another $100, but it will be a far superior marker than the Type-R. Also note that you will need a fast hopper and HPA with all of these markers, which will cost you around $120 minimum.

Meh, I will probably end up buying a used Promaster off the forums here. If I can sell my PSP that is..

It would be more than just drilling, tapping, threading, and plumbing...But yeah, you could..

I agree 100%. Used Ion would be the best way to go.

If you dont want of one those, look for a used Promaster.

Look into the used market for sure. I'm sure you would find some guns you would like there.
