I bought my son a mini the other day and tried it out only to find out it was chopping. New gun chopping. So I did some playing with it. Found out that it was back-feeding the paint back into the hopper. Messed around with the settings for awhile and gave up. Took it to my pro-shop where I bought it. they figured it out.
The manual reads for ball in place is 1 as default adjustable from 1-40. I was told to turn that up,but that never fixed it. In the default setting it says the dwell should be 38. Again adjustable from 1-40. Well with the 1.2 programming (new software) it doesn't go back to 38 when restting the board back to default. mine resets to 28 instead. My pro shop turned the dwell up to 38 instead and now I have no more problems.Thought I'd try to save some of you's a trip back to the proshop.
Anyone see anything for sale for the mini yet? I'd like to replace the huge ASA. Don't know if that will ever be possible though.

ehh rumors r circulating bout aftermarket products but prolly nuthin for a hile the ASA is big because it double functions as a regulator so idk if its ever gunna get smaller

set BIP to 5 or 6
keep dwell at stock(28).

There have also been issues with the detent springs being too strong. I would suggest trying a few things. First, setting your BIP to three and the dwell to 33-34.

just like rohit said keep your dwell at 28 and put your BIP at 5-6. you will have to adjust your input pressure and how long the valve stays open to get it perfect. and is it actually chopping or just barrel breaks? mine was just barrel breaks and lowering the input pressure and the dwell while allowing the valve to open farther should fix it. mine hasn't actually chopped though so idk about that.

Well with that detent problem, thats not gonna be too good, considering there are no aftermarket parts. Anyone heard of any air problems or leak from the regulator? I've heard of one. Im just wondering what to do if this happens..Im just gonna pray..lol

i haven't had any air problems except for alot less efieicency then i have heard about but i'm hopping that will change in time.

once your bolt spring breaks on you will end up lowering your dwell to less than 28 clicks. If rasing your dwell actually gave you less blowback then the bolt was not moving fully forward due to the high spring tension or poor lube job.

I got only 600 shots from a 1700 psi fill.

edit-no i didn't have a single chop or barrel break using small bore paint. the stock mini barrel is less than .688

Uh Rohit, I'm not sure if you noticed but if you have a 4500psi tank then a full tank would get around 1500 shots. thats pretty good. which it also depends on the size of your tank but as long you don't have anything larger then a 71ci, i wouldn't complain.

Has anyone else had really bad efficency when they first got there mini and did it improve once it broke in? also how long did it take for it to be broken in.

the stock barrel is actually a .691 I dont care what a bore sizer says your paint is.

Stock Bore is .691. which is kind of an odd bore soze do have unless you bu a custom barrel.

im not impressed with the stock mini barel but I shoot small bore paint. The reason it is that big is because most all paint will fit through it.

I shoot (tried to shoot) Diablo Heat. I gave up after the horrendous amount of Barrel Breaks. then i tried EVIL paint, wouldn't fit in the Barrel. Finally so ultra small bore Custom origin paint fit (must have been around .687)

must have just been the paint then cause i had at least 5 barrel breaks per game with diablo heat.

and the stock barrel sucks about breaking paint for some reason for me. I rarely get a barel break with my 07 sceptor, and when I get a break with that, its usually because I drug it through paint on the tip from a bunker.

i've just switched over to an Etek barrel

good cause i just got my sceptor wednesday without to much of an idea on performance. it looks really good on the mini doesn't it? mine does, its the gloss black just like my mini.

i got the blue tips, but they dont match the blue mini too well. It still looks good though.
