Well it depends on how much you're willing to pay, the way you play, and how often can you get fills.

You can use that on your Tippmann, no worries.

I'd save up another $80 and buy a pure energy 68/4500psi tank. It is a much better size in my opinion, and is carbon fiber wrapped. You can also get the stubby version of the 68/4500 if you want a smaller feeling tank, without losing shot capacity. Whatever tank you decide on you need to make sure its HIGH PRESSURE, or else your custom will not cycle fully.

Agreed.

Don't forget about ebay either. you can get a decent 68/4500 tank for 150-180ish.

Just pay attention to hydro dates and shipping charges and factor that all into what you are willing to pay.
Also do some browsing in the reviews section and on a few internet sites like actionvillage. Get a good personal feel for what is out there rather than just relying a bunch of internet bozos to help you.

That tank will work great. Thats the one I'm going to buy when I get a good marker. I can't afford fiber tanks.

Is this cosmetic or does it have some sort of advantage? I heard a story about a glass, carbon fiber wrapped tank exploding like a bomb, although no one can confirm where or who it happened to, just that " they knew a guy who knew a guy..."

Its lighter, and if I'm correct, its aluminum wrapped in carbon fiber, making it stronger. Plus you will get a much better amount of shots with the 68/4500. The whole exploding thing is unlikely to happen, unless you hammer a nail into it, or throw it on a pile of jagged rocks, even then it would only happen if it was over-pressurized.

Yeah, the mythbusters did an experiment involving pressurized cylindars and firing bullets into them.

The findings were that explosive decompression of a high pressure cylendar is a myth.

However my experience has been that when a reg busts off or a remote line gets sliced the tank effectivly becomes a rocket and the remote line a very painful whip. Likewise CO2 tanks. I saw a donut at Dicks smash the glass counter becasue he filled a co2 with an smart pars on/off valve instead of a pin valve. He forgot to turn the valve, and unhooked it from the fill line. The tank did a neat half circle( since he didn't let go) and if you were deaf you almost would have thought he had smashed the glass on purpose.
Except for the snow and the scared crapless look on his face :) .

Get a Crossfire 68/4500 they are the most reliable tank for the price. It's 180 bucks and you would get 1500 shoots easy.

first (not flamin just bothers me) N2 is the same as compressed air(paintball wise) that always annoys me. now that thats over a 72/3000 or 48/3000 r the only things in ur price range. last shouldn't this be in ar forum????

I hear ya monsta . I generally refer to it as HPA or an HP tank myself.
But people need a symetry in technology naming. So one airsource is called CO2, the other one must obviously be some sort or letter and number combination, right? LOL

Ant then there all the people who love to call it Nitro because of the cool :dodgy: racing conotations.

I've used a crossfire 3000psi tank on one of my tippmanns. They work great, but you should save up and get a 68/4500 psi tank instead. You'll like it a lot more, trust me, I've have both.
