Tell your friend he is wrong...

Most fields only allow semi.... So as long as the setting is ON semi, you're fine...

Besides, there's no real need for full auto anyways...

You can if your fields lets you, but sadly not very many fields do.

Clarify... Do you mean the egrip itself or the full auto setting...

Because if you mean the egrip itself, than that would mean NO electronic marker would ever be allowed at a field... Which we all should know, is NOT true...

I'm pretty sure he is referring to the full auto setting on markers.

My friend has to lock out the auto functions on his SP-8 every time he goes on the field.

Sorry about the confusion. I meant the Full Auto version. I don't know, does the E-grip have a semi lock??? I know my local field on Tuesday nights has what they call an "any mode night" its pretty cool.

Yes - e-grip
No - Full auto

A need for full auto? Yes slow fingers

Always ask the field owner or one of the refs at the field you plan to play at, maybe the one near you allows full auto.

also depends on the field. theres a field in my city that only allows electros for teh last few hours o fteh day, the rest of the time you must be mechanical

egrip is legal at the the majority of fields because of the difficulty of changing it to full auto while playing.

the r/t is not allowed at alot of fields because you can hit a sweetspot on the trigger and will shoot full auto. theres no way to block people from doing it.

your friend is wrong.

The requirement for a tool to change modes makes the e-grip legal at most fields. Just check wherever you are playing to see if they allow it.

Some fields won't let you, but they should. Response isn't actually full auto either. When you pull the trigger, the gun fires, then air is built up which pushes the trigger forwards. Since you're already pulling the trigger, when the pressure releases, you shoot again. This keeps going until you let go of the trigger.

true....but the sweet spot is the precise spot where the pressure that the air is pushing back on your finger with is roughly the same as the pressure you are pulling the trigger with....resulting in the marker firing full auto without you pulling the trigger at all. just holding it in a certain spot.

at least im pretty sure how the sweet spot works.

The rt will not just fire one shot unless its turned all of the way down.
It is full auto even if its not sweet spotted.
The rt shoots quick strings of 6-8 bps

The e-grip is electronic and mechanical
