hey JohnnyRotten how did u become a Smart Parts Certified Technician. just curious cuz once I get a job im spending all my money on paintball and I like to work on paintball guns just as much as shooting people with em
The become SP Certified, you preaty much have to be sponsered by a Store. The Store have to buy a number of guns for each tech they send. This can be very expensive (for the store). To my knowlage you can not simply pay to take the course

yeah that stinks. I'm 12, so my parents won't let me take PTI courses. my local field won't let me volunteer, and I don't have a store that could sponsor me to be an SP tech. I hate life! (ps, I'm not a wimp, pretty strong actually, so it's not like I'm unable to lift stuff, I move appliances and furniture every thursday, and I know the rule book, and how to reF)

Question:
Why do you want to be certified? I mean I know it would be cool and all, but whats the point? Learn how to tear your gun apart to every little piece there is, reassemble it and get it shooting as well as it was before. Thats all you really need...

From what I hear, certified techs get sent to major events, like World Cup and the LA Open ... that'd be cool.

ude but 12 is just a litle to young i mean you have to be atleast 15 to get a permit so looks like you will have to get older hang out at your local shop watch the air smiths thats one way you could learn to rip apart your gun and put it back together easyly but it would be nice to be a tech:D

To be certified means nothing really, I know more about the internals and the actual workings of the SP markers but, if you dont apply that knowledge on a daily basis, you will never get better. I happen to be fortunate to work for 2 of the best SP techs in the world and have learn 10 times more from them and actually tech'ing Imps and shockers than the class taught me. Muck is right about traveling to tournaments with SP teams BUT... do you know how long it took Walt to get that good at what he does before SP asked him to do it? 5 years of Working hard and going to SP classes every year to keep up to date with whats going on, Walt has earned what respect he gets from SP, so trust me it doesnt happen overnite
