Well i am an uber noob, and was wondering if the apex is an actual barrel or barrel tip, and if it is a tip, can it be mounted on a tippmann sniper barrel?

It is a barrel but you can get it as a tip. I don't think it will fit on a sniper barrel because if I remember correctly the sniper barrel's end is fluted. If you notice the stock A-5 barrel is not fluted at the end making it capable of holding the Apex tip. Progressive, Sniper, Teardrop, stock 98, and other barrels with diffrernt sized tip barrels will not accept the Apex tip.

Only certain barrel will fit the Apex tip. Here is sticky on this subject. Thank bvdave.

I like to think of it as a normal part of the quest for superior firepower. And if you hang back, like I do, you have plenty of time to dial in especially once you get good at ranging. WHich is why I asked about using a telescopic sight as a spotter scope. (Thanks for your reply btw) However, I didn't pay for mine it came standard on my marker.

I think the apex is pretty cool but teh curve shots kinda annoy me, I like itf or range to compete vs players with flatlines. which is why I do my mod a bit tight so that on my winforce barrel the dial wont turn its only good for range (if you do this make sure you knwo what way is up on the barrel :P)

yay my thread was refrenced (feels proud)

oh and you cant buy just the tip, I have a wholesale account with BT and I allready checked and they wont sell it as anything less then the full barel.. so I got a useless apex barrel with no apex sitting around lol

and dont pay 140 for it, you can usually get it for about $110

I have found the Apex barrel ( non mil sim) for as low as 50 bucks w/shipping on EBay. But I forget a lot of you are really young and may or may not have credit card access.

Matter of fact my little brother is selling a NIB one right now if anyone is interested.

Thanks, i know this is a stupid question, but is the apex inacurate and only has range? i read that on another web site.

stock apex in inaccurate. get an aftermarket barrel for it and your set.

and if your buying it for $50 its prolly used and an apex isnt always the greatest thing to buy used, many people who sell them used are doing so because they sliced up the rubber part that gives spin and its breaking all the balls. it cant be that price new because thats lower then wholesale cost.

I wasnt debating $90 I was debating 50, some people are willing to take rediculous low markups and that turns out great for the paintball community, 50 just is impossible for new.. unless soemone is selling at a loss.

anyways you dont need a specific aftermarket barrel any barrel with a flat end that isnt very thick will work, id go for a winforce amazing barrel and only one I use now (my werks, linear and empire kit sit in a box in my basement now) and its about $30. you really cant go wrong, the name isnt big so you get insane discounts.

from what ive seen of a j&j it will work well on that as well.

First of all nothing is impossible. Often times people that sell brand new merchandise way below retail bought the thing and then decided they didn't want/need it, or had a dire financial need and will take any amount of cash to get buy. A lot of times pawnshops sell things for less than market value, simply because they didn't pay a whole lot out for it to begin with and their profit margin will be huge regardless.

I'm telling you, if you are patient, you can find it for as cheap as 50 bucks NIB. Paintball stores go out of business, and liquidated merchandise is often far below market value.

If you want to pay 90 bucks for an apex barrel, that's your business, but it seems suspect to dissuade other people from buying one for 50. I haven't set foot in a paintball store or field pro shop yet, so I had no idea how expensive stuff really is.

To give you an idea, the retail for a BT-4 Ironhorse is about 379.00. I bought mine NIB on EBay for 232 dollars with shipping. I can show you the Paypal receipt.

Give me a day or so and I bet I can post listings for at least 2 NIB Apex barrels that start @ $50.

I bought my last generic apex NIB for 60 bucks shipped. I will admit some luck, but if you wait till a bunch are on the ole ebay at once and the sellers start with low reserves then you can work the system.
Heck I saw one guy buy three almost new sp-8s for around 150 each a few weeks ago. (if you believe the auction they were team backup markers that was switching to diffrent sponsor)

If you are not willing to try ebay, I got mine from paintballdiscounters.com for 79 bucks, whatever you do don't pay 140 dollars for it.

I also agree that curves and what-not are kinda cheating and they take the tactical fun away from the game, but to each his own. I have mine fixed straight up and down. I chose the apex because I like the flatline but like the idea of being able to turn it on and off. I am pretty happy with it all around.

Your best bet is going to be looking at the reviews and not asking in the forums. All that will do is start up a huge debate about it, because people either love it or hate it.

Good luck and check out the reviews.
