New Werm Bolt

Has anyone heard of this new Werm Bolt?? And is it really supposed to increase accuracy?

Yes and almost all if not all of the aftermarket barrels increase accuracy...

where did you guys hear about this bolt? Is it actually new, or is it the one werm sells on his site (the IPB delrin bolt). If someone's got some info on it, i would be really interested to hear it.

Yeah, WERM is displaying and selling them this weekend at Skyball. He gave a few to selected people to try(Wolverine, etc...), but no one has leaked yet how good they are. WERM says they will definitely increase long range accuracy. This sucks because I got a Voodoo less than a month ago:pissed: Sounds like this bolt will help us back and woods/rec. players.

I called Werm and he said that the milling is different on them. He feels really good about it and I trust that it will help. He has not lied about anything before.

Thanks to Bill (Werm) I had the chance to play with the new bolt he was so gratious to give our team, HAHA 6 of them, OMG is all I can say from a backman's position, I was shooting darts across the field, I did have to re-chrono though because it increased my velocity 10 fps over my other custom bolt I was using. Forgive the short post because Im going on about 4 hours sleep in 2 days. If any of you get a chance to meet Wolverine and his buddy Jason, Tarantula, Werm, Killer Kat ( who had a whole bag full of gifts for us, and thanks again man, the average person wouldnt realize what all can be done with those, But I do, and could put them all to great use) do it, your in for a great time. We stayed up half the night, dreaming up new designs, BS'ing, and teching Imps in a bathroom. Guys we all had a blast, more fun than actually playing, Ill post more tomorrow when I can see straight.

I'd think with a proper paint match the spin would be stopped by the barrel.

I wonder if it would even work at all with a well matched one piece barrel...I can see it working with a 2 piece such as a freak or boomer.

its not made to create spin on the ball. its made to distribute all the air in the same spot every time so that when it leaves the barrel, it will go the same direction. this gives it a tighter grouping and better accuracy at longer ranges.

and Impy4335, relax. its not impossible to accidently switch the word bolt with the word barrel when talking about paintball.

How does it make the air hit the ball more consistantly than any other bolt out there?

I'm not knocking werm, he makes great stuff. But I've never bought into the whole bolt deal, they dont make a difference for me. As long as its high flowing, thats enough for me.

im predy sure that it does this. instead of having the air hit all around the ball (like open, 3 hole, and ventury bolts), it only hits it near the bottom. this makes it moves out of the barrel the same way almost every time.
if this isnt making sense, let WERM tell you.

if you had a HUGE bored barrel, you might be able to use it as a "back spin" bolt, kinda acting like a flat line barrel.

Actually this bolt works just like Werm says it does, but what I have found out is you need to increase the size of your insert or barrel to get the most out of it, I know it sounds odd, but I have tried it and compared it to the Voodoo and the New Designz bolt. With a perfect paint to barrel match, they all seem pretty consistant, BUT when you increase your bore size slightly, the groupings on the Werm Bolt actually get tighter, not looser.

And XSycloneX, your idea about the large bore barrel wont work. If anything, a big bore barrel will make the paint spin the WRONG way, decreasing your range.

Flatline puts a backspin on the ball, a large bore barrel will put 'frontspin' on it, doing the opposite of what a flatline would do.
