View Full Version : New Smartparts Freak Barrel- Good?

As of now I have a M98 with an All American barrel. I'm lookin for accuracy and range (as is everybody else), should I upgrade to a different barrel. Is the new Freak Barrel good? I already got a flatline.

keep the all american, the best barrel u could get though would b to get a freak back w/ a 2k2 AA front. Freak fronts arent as accurate and dont have as much range as a 2k2 aa, but they do look better.

they all have the same range,the aa is a tad quieter

The AA is good. But you can't beat the distance of a faltline. If you want a freak get it. But your wasting your money cause the barrel you have now is good enough.

Agreed. If you're not having trouble with fluctuating paintball sizes, then the barrel you have is good enough. The only difference you'll see from an insert barrel system will be bore flexibility and maybe appearance (if you like the way one looks more than the other). If the paint you use now matches your barrel's bore, you won't be able to get any more range or accuracy from the Freak. So if you live in a climate that stays the same and you use the same paintballs all the time, you have yourself a great barrel already.

AA is practically a freak barrel...maybe a little better
the only reason the freak is so expensive is because it comes with different bore size adapters and etc.
so keep your AA...unless if u want the 2k2 AA...those look sweet :love:

yes, the AA fronts will fit a freak back. i have tat setup on my cocker. go to smartparts.com, you can customize ur barrel w/ color options and other options.

the main advantage of the Freak is being able to get a good paint/barrel match.
