Hey, In the future I plan to use my A5 with a remote and without a stock...Is it hard to play with like this?

depends how you play but I woudl fidn it much harder to aim as quickly or accuratly and the marker will be rather unbalanced.

More than likely it will be hard because of the fact that you cant rest the weight of the gun any where.

What if I had a sling? I can rest the weight there i guess...

I took a Marine friend to play with us this weekend, and despite being the only person that could score a kill on me (gogged me TWICE, the *******) he did comment that having a stock would have made him more inclined the buy the rig he borrowed.

Whether you get a remote or not, I would recommend getting a good sling. I just got my 3-point sling in the mail today from Spec Ops Paintball (http://www.specialopspaintball.com/shop/product_detail.asp?SKU=321+0019&CAT=104202) and I love it. No more setting the A-5 down on dirty benches or in the mud while reloading paintballs or putting your mask on etc. Tippmann really should've packaged a sling with the A-5, in my opinion. I don't know how some people live without it.

A sling is nice too but the only reason you should really not have a stock is if you play a flanking/speed player, even then I recommend a folding stock. I have an A-5 with stock and a 98 w/out one. With the 98 I would take the whole tank/pack thing along with remote and just mount the tank on the marker. That is my personal opinion and it just feels weird without one. It makes the gun a heck of a lot more stable. If you are to use your marker without one then I definitly recommend a sling.

I play with my a-5 with a remote and no stock all the time.
I also mounted a front at the base of the barrel and that gives a wider grip that balances it out nicely. You can get tactical shotgun tri rails that clamshell over the base of the barrel. I use a double clam shell. One goes around the barrel, then a bottom clamshell holds a tac light. Standard tac grip then gets put on the very bottom. the two side rails of the tri rail just sit there looking aw some.
I also found that a tac rail can be mounted fairly easily on a lapco barrel shroud. Those hold a tac grip nicely as well.
And though I don't use one myself, there are flatline shrouds that also have standard tac rails on them.
I replaced the front grip with a very light self made magazine (all you need is a drill, some sheet metal , a few nuts an bolts from home depot, and a cheap airsoft mag[surprisingly, this exactly what all the bossman kits are:dodgy: ])
But even without the front add on, it seems fine to me just holding the mag, and I have played more often without the front grip barrel add on than not.
It's really a personal preference I suppose. I just like the feel of no bottle or stock in my way. I can pull the marker in nice and tight that way.
