I am currently thinking about getting a mini...
How do you know if the boards are defective or not?
Is that the main problem with them?

That is the main problem. Most of them have new boards in them now, your most likely to get a bad board if you get one used.
The 1.1 board is the bad one and the 1.2 is the good one. It says it on the board.

Not answering the original topic, but falls under the Mini Board thread...

From a non tounry player, is it crucial to get the rampage board for the Mini? I understand it has the ability to switch modes through trigger combinations and it has the ball movement sensing technology also... But I have seen a video of a guy shoot a hoope full with PSP ramping on and not a ball break. So is it worth the $150 or so?

I preordered mine from Action Village about a week ago, and they said they should be in stock within another week or two. I'm hoping they have the newer boards in them, because I've already been dealing with a lot of crap shipping stuff back and forth, and it ain't cheap.

I recently ended up losing an Ariakon Overlord pistol return in the mail (with another online store), costing me $109 (in addition to the shipping charges I paid). I suddenly don't feel too confident or happy with the United States Postal Service at the moment.

But anyway, I think it's safe to assume that since they're currently out of stock a newer batch of Minis are on the way. Just a heads up, if anyone's thinking about buying one. I don't mean to advertise for them or anything, I'd just don't want to see anyone get screwed over.

Oh and another thing... it says the silver one comes with a case in the product description, while the others don't. I called them up to confirm that the black one I ordered would come in a case too, and they reassured me that it would. So the case isn't a limited edition sorta deal. It applies to every mini of every color.

Anyway, can't wait to get it. I hope my patience pays off and it doesn't chop paint out of the box. Best of luck to you too.
