OK, so I have seen the ape board.
But it's just a board.

Has anyone seen any way to get a new board already in a grip?

The reason I ask is that the stock board already has normal tourney modes.

One of the neat things about the mini is that the whole electronics "grip" is supposedly quick switch. So you can pack a few preprogrammed grips to just swap on and off.

I am a lazy person. especially at the field. for example, I size my freak up on my first hopper, but if I change paints I am just too lazy to resize. Unless i get a bunch of barrel breaks. Then I kinda have to.

So my goal would be to have a few grips in diffrent modes to just swap in and out easy(dart, I am being redundant, but its too long a sentance to just delete it now. See, lazzzy). Any one see the whole dealio? Or an invert parts site(sorta like tippmanparts) where you can order simple individual parts easy and quick?

second question.

Does anyone think the mini looks odd with a 14" barrel. It just reminds me of when Jack Nicholson pulled out his 3 foot long pistol in Batman. You know, when Beetlejuice guy was flying his bat jet.(talk about a silly phallic symbol).
I haven't seen any pics with a 12" or shorter barrel.
Any thoughts? (I know the paint and barrels forum has lots of info, just wanted a mini slant on the whole dealio. [Is that my second use of the word dealio?])

I know what you are getting it, but if you just want to be able to switch modes, there's no need to have a bunch of boards. With the Tourney lock off, the APE board allows you to switch modes by tapping the power button.

It also has five memory slots, allowing you to save groups of settings (you can still access each mode when switching between groups of settings). So you could have one group of settings saved for 15bps, another group saved for unlimited. Program the settings once, save them, and then leave them.

OK, there's still going to be times that you need to access the board, either to change memory slots or turn the tourney lock on, but you can get all your tiresome programming done in one sitting, save the settings to different slots and then just recall them as and when you need them, rather than having to change mode, rate of fire, debounce settings and activation rates each time you want to switch from NPPL to PSP to Millennium or whatever.

Well now, I did not know it had 5 memory slots. Guess I am guilty of scanning instead of reading.
That is definately cool.

I just assumed it was similar to the ape board in my A-5, which is very uncomplicated and straight forward.

This will be my first decent electro marker with all these diffrent settings (all my cockers were mechs), so I guess I will be doing some time consuming exactly what debounce ect really means. :)

exactly what debounce ect really means. :)

The time in ms that the gun wont fire after a trigger pull to keep the gun from bouncing. Dont worry, the ape board dont have it, it was a typo in the manual. It dont need it due to the hes.

Hall Effect Sensor - it's what the Mini uses to register trigger pulls, rather than a microswitch or optical switch.

ok. I will just shut up now until my mini comes in and I get to playing with it.

Then I will ask more noobish q's. :)

I know no one often says this, but I want to generally thank the members on this board.
Sure there a lot of wiseguy spazz noobs, but there is also a hardcore group of knowledgable people who either really love the game and like to help others get the most out of paintball or just have no social life and have nothing better to do than scope the boards.
Whatever the reason, thank you.

No problem, most people here are more than happy just to help someone out.

ps - the truth is somewhere in between - in my case I don't get to play as much as I'd like, but I have no social life and like to help. :P
