I don't own an alien nor have i shot one but frames are all prefrence. One might feel more comfortable to you than another. I would say if possible hold all of the frames or similar frames and decide which one you like better.

I love the 85* Interceptor frame much much more than most other frames out there, including the Remains frame.

I certainly like the 85* frame on a Ceptor a lot more than one on an Ion. I can't even explain why.
But the frame really is preference, not that you've always got a choice, depending on the model you choose.

Certainly all preference...but I personally can walk and control my marker better on the 85* than a 45 frame.

No such thing as a 45* frame, certainly not on a paintball marker anyway, just 45 frames. ;)
The 45 actually refers to the fact that the frame is compatible with grips from the Colt 1911A1 45ACP pistol, with the same screw spacing, and similar dimensions and grip angle. The angle of the grip isn't anywhere near to 45* however.

Interesting, I always assumed that companies called them 45 frames to differentiate between the "normal" frame and the 90* frames. 45* is easy for most customers to visualize, even though they are clearly not at a 45* angle.

I think that over time paintball manufacturers have shifted further and further from copying the exact dimensions of the Colt frame, so the meaning has been lost, though it was the origin of the name, and Colt grip plates should still be interchangeable - after all, companies like Hogue were associated with firearms long before their grips turned up on any paintball marker.
Thing is, once people started adding things like "humps" on the back-strap, built in rails and drops and so on, installing double triggers and ever larger trigger guards, the paintball frames stopped looking anything like a Colt automatic, so no surprise that people often don't see a resemblance. Sometimes now, the only real resemblance is in the grips themselves, not the frame they are attached to.

If you get a chance, try a vertical frame. And try an Alien while you're at it.
