What kind of VA?

I'm most likely getting a VL Revelation to use as a loaner gun and a tinkering gun. Of course, as with anything I get, I plan on upgrading it and that requires a VA for at least a gas thru and maybe a reg later on.

Now the question is, do I need the Orion style VA or the Raptor style VA?

I would think Orion because the Raptor is older and I don't believe they are in production any more. Though it really depends on which way the Revelation is set up to take VA.

you'll need the 'Raptor' style VA the Orion has a milled section the Revelation lacks. The Revelation is also left hand thread, the Orion was both left and right hand threaded.
