Hey, I am looking for a 14" or a 16" barrel for my A5.. I have been looking into a J&J Ceramic one...Is there any other great barrels for the A5 that are quiet...BTW, I am using Air..So I guess that affects the loundess of the gun..
Thanks

A 20" J&J. :dodgy:

Progressives are quiet. But ehh. I like a loud marker. Doesn't matter if I'm in the woods or not.

If you want, look into a Lapco Bigshot. It's accurate, but it's pretty loud. *shrug* I like it.

Alright man, Thanks for the reply..I actaully like a quiet marker...Most of the time im playing indoor, so theres alot of shooting going on, I just like sneaking around and picking of people quietly.

No real way to quiet down an A-5. It's going to be loud regardless of which barrel is on it, so push decibels down your list of priorities in a barrel.

Your gun won't be quiet enough that people won't notice it. It's just not going to happen with an A5.

I suggest a J&J ceramic, Lapco Bigshot or CP 1 Piece. All are excellent, inexpensive barrels that will get the job done.

well quietest ive ever used is a 20" Stone Cold II barrel, loads of V style porting. not great for efficency due to long length but all I coudl really hear is the bolt going back and forth compared to normal :P

actually on my custom pro with a 14" Winforce I can hear the bolt over the shot too, winforce is extremily quiet even at shorter lengths, if i could silence my bolt id have a extremily quiet marker.... havent tried any home mods yet tho

The A-5 is a loud beast. I owned one for 2 years and tried every barrel under the sun. Even the "quietest" barrel is going to be loud because it’s on an A5! Just concentrate on getting a good accurate barrel and forget the noise. That’s the best thing you can do for you and your Tippmann.

I suggest the Palmer Brass (PPS). Best barrel for the A-5 HANDS DOWN. Check out my thread here titles "Best kept secret in paintball barrels" or look at Palmers site at www.palmer-pursuit.com

There is no need to get porting or coating, so you can get one of his barrels for 45 bucks. That’s the best deal in the world as far as barrels are concerned. Or get the black coated barrel. It matches the A5 perfectly (I did this). Its only 55 bucks for that one. Of course if you REALLY want to reduce the noise opt for a ported/vented version. It’s going to add a lot to the cost tho!

Or you could try a barrel like http://http://www.pbreview.com/products/reviews/2910/ this.

I used a CP 1 piece 14" on my old A-5 and it shot VERY nicely, definetely look into one. You could also get barrels such as the J&J Ceramic, Lucky Un1tech, and Bigshot.
