Tippman 98c isn't really a tinker gun, all the upgrades are sold in kits so you can't really choose the best upgrades and such, I would recommend a Talon or a Stingray if you want to do a lot of mods using that involve more modifying stuff rather then just putting in new parts.

My main point is......Can you put higher quality parts in a BrassEagle Avenger....Too make it as high quaulity internals as a Tippmann model 98.....or a little better.....And can you make the BrassEagle Avenger Not break as much as the stock parts.........?????

Based on what I know about the Avenger and what I've heard about the 98, I doubt if there are enough upgrades to bring the Avenger up to the quality of a 98. Even if you could upgrade the Avenger I suspect you would have more money invested in it than if you just bought the 98 to start with.
I did the same thing your talking about with my Stingray II and wound up with more money in it than what it cost me to buy my Excellerator 4.0.

The stingray is a fun gun to tinker with.

The tippmann opens up clamshell style, so it would probably be easier if you want to go gung-ho on the internals. Plus there are a lot more upgrades if you want to do more aftermarket suping up rather than custom jobs.

Preferably, I think the tippmann is a better choice if you have the cash but the Avenger's nice too.

If you want a gun to tinker with get a syper compact 2000. Spyders are one of the most upgradeable markers and its easy to find parts for them.

Ill like to see a avenger perform anywere near a Tippmann 98 custom, but that will never happen.

If you are not going to provide any details on why you have your opinions, please keep them to yourself. I have personally seen Avengers outperform m98's, so shut up.

Guess what? The model 98 isn't the best thing since sliced bread. It's just a dime-a-dozen semi that gets praise for its durability. And frankly, I don't see what the big deal is. You might as well save the money for the jacked-up price and just rent 98's at the field.

There not even close to being the greatest their is, but any BE product is even more far off.

Why would anyone recommend a talon or stingray? Sure i can understand if someone was wanting to become an engineer or manufacturer but this is paintball. You can modify other guns besides talons, raptors, etc. Why waste your money trying to modify a talon when after it is modified it is as good as a stingray?

#1 thing a newb should ask himself when buying a paintball gun. "Does the box or gun have the brass eagle logo anywhere on it?" If the answer is yes, do the smart thing and keep searching.

those things (stingray) is the most fun to tinker with. they dont cost much either, all together ive got about 20 bucks into it and i made a double trigger, and a foregrip, and a bottom line. yes the gun still sucks performance wise but none the less its still a good gun to just **** around with.
