To clean and oil the JT4.0 (moving firing parts of the gun).

1. Remove the pin from the velocity adjuster, keeping your finger over the end when you pull it out so that it doesnt fly out.

2. pull out the cocking rod and firing pin by pulling on the firing pin until it comes all the way out with the cocking rod. (make sure you go slow and pull this nice and straight to keep from scraping or damaging anything.

3. you can unscrew the low pressure chamber from the front of the gun and pull that out aswell as the valve spring and valve pin.

- at this point you should have all of the moving firing parts of the gun easily pulled out and these are the parts you should clean and oil.

4. just use a clean cloth or paper towels or toilet paper to clean these parts from any dirt or debris as needed.

5. drop 1 or 2 drops of 'non-penetrating' oil (standard air gun oil), on each o-ring and rub it around with a q-tip cotton swab or your finger.

6. reconnect the low pressure chamber and valve pin assembly and wiggle the valve pin and spring to make sure it goes all the way in through th valve hole.

7. slide the cocking rod and firing pin back in straight and carefully once cleaned and the orings are oiled. pushing on the firing pin it will get to a point where it stops, when this happens keep some pressure on the back of the pin and pull the trigger, this will allow you to push it back in all the way past the points where it catches, slide back in the rubber bushing, the velocity adjuster, and cocking spring.. put your pin back in and cock and fire the gun (without connection your co2 or air) to make sure its cocking and firing properly.

easy as that, and if you do this after every day of playing your marker will perform better if not perfect and will last alot longer and need parts to be replaced much less.

for the non moving parts of the gun (like the air adapter and expansion chamber) you can clean and oil those o-rings aswell using this procedure.

this should only be done if you are having problems with air leaking from the expansion chamber or air adapter..

To fix any air leaks in the expansion chamber or the air adapter section (non moving parts of the gun)

1. un-attach your air source adapter from the drop forward, with the 2 screws..

2. un-attach the hose from the expansions chamber..

3. now you should have the hose and air adapter disconnected and seperate from the gun, but still in one peice.

4. clean and oil all of the orings with 1 or 2 drops of oil per o-ring

5. make sure the hose is screwed into the air adapter far enough so the oring is totally seated in there. (nice and snug)

6. now hold the air adapter and hose straight so the flat part of the air adapter is in line with the drop forward and ready to be connected.

7. connect the hose to the expansion chamber while keeping the air adapter with the flat part facing up.

8. now with that whole section tightened up, the last step is to re-mount the air adapter to the drop forward with the 2 screws.

this should get all the fittings nice and snug (leak free) and allow you to keep that hose totally straight.. you should be able to remove and re-connet that hose without ever twisting it or putting any pressure on it at all.
