I currently use a 2k2 Piranha eForce VTL. Lately, I have noticed a huge drop in accuracy and range from my gun. I have cleaned it out, and I replaced a few parts. To shoot more the 20 feet, I have to lob the ball drastically. So, I have decided to upgrade to an A-5. I almost always play woodsball, and from what I have read, the Tippmann markers are excellent woodsball markers.I have always liked the Tippmann markers, but I just have a few questions about the A-5. I have read many, many reviews about it, and a few have mentioned that it "likes gas".
1.Does the Tippmann really waste that much gas?
2.Is $200 a good price for a regular A-5?
3.Is there anything else I should know about the A-5.

Thanks in advance everyone!

yea i bought an a5 and it is an awesome marker, but to answer your questions:
1) It is a gas hog because it is a high pressure operated marker and because it has to use gas to spin the cyclone hopper system
2) For a brand new a5 $200 is a pretty good price
3) the a5 is an all around nice marker. check my review if u want to read up it is the second one on the page http://www.pbreview.com/products/reviews/?year=&sort=long&prod=1160&page=3

hope this helps

I usually get between 450-515 shots from a 20 oz co2 tank. I also have a response trigger and 2 stage expansion chamber. Doesn't affect it too much. 200$ seems about right the cheapest i've seen it recently online for is like 175$. The only other thing is the cyclone feed sometimes doesnt cycle on like the last 10 shots of the tank(it runs on air). O Yea if it falls out of the plane on the way to you it may not work when you get it. Any other questions pm me or ask in thread.

You can sometimes find refurbished A-5's for around $150. .Rock Star Tactical and Tippmann Parts sometimes has some. They carry a 90 day warranty from Tippmann.

wow it's that much of a gas hog? discountpaintball.com says it gets 500 to a 9 ounce tank.

I have a 98 with a cyclone and get about that much out of it. Danny must play in cold weather.

its not the cyclone feed that wastes gas. It uses excess Co2 to function. I dont personally have the a5 but i do have a cyclone feed and since i got it mine still gets the same shots out of a tank and even in cold weather it doesnt drop too much.

Well, I hate to break it to you, but an A-5's gas efficiency is horrible compared to some markers. A few people get good readings, but most get an average of around 800 shots or less from a 20 ounce tank.
