what does the Expansion chamber actually do thinking of buying the Piranha Ext does not have one do i need one

The expansion chamber allows liquid CO2 to turn into gasseous CO2. Your gun will operate better and more consistantly if it is getting gasseous CO2. Feeding liquid into your gun is more of a problem if you live where it is sometimes colder and you might be using the gun in colder weather. So if you are from a warmer climiate, you might not even need an expansion chamber. Also an anti-siphon tube will do a pretty good job of keeping liquid out of you gun if it's installed correctly.
