im thinking about buying a mini and i have sum questions before i buy it:

1. How does the mini compare to other markers in its price range (fusions, pmrs, etc.)

2. Will it performance any better than an upped ion?

3. How efficient is a mini? i own a 48/3000 tank and with that i can get 700-800 shots out of it with my ion, will a mini perform similar to that?

4. What is the chopping issue i've been hearing about. Is it a problem with the poppet, or is it just a matter of breaking it in?

5. How comfortable is holding a mini? i noticed that u cant mount a drop forward on it so i was wondering how a 48/3000 would feel on it.

6. Is a mini worth it? should i go for something else?

thx.

1) The Mini and PMR perform similarly, but I like the Mini more. I havn't shot a Fusion though, and I can't stand the feel of a Fusion. I would try to shoot all 3.

2) Yes. Compared to my friends uped Ion (everything except the reg is uped), the Mini shoots nicer, looks better, is lighter, and feels better.

3) I get 800 or so shots from my 68 3000. It's not broken in completely though, so it will probably get better.

4) From what I hear, just with the Poppet. The company will fix it for free.

5) I think it is really comfortable holding a Mini, but my friends (both 6' 6") think that it is way too small and don't like it.

6) For the price, the Mini is definitally worth it. Small, light, fast, all around great.

summed it up besides I get better effeciency off a 68 3k, more like 1100 to 1200

im thinking about buying a mini and i have sum questions before i buy it:

1. How does the mini compare to other markers in its price range (fusions, pmrs, etc.)

Favorably. Preferance plays a part. I like how simple to maintain the mini is.
I also like its small form factor and the outstanding case it comes in.

2. Will it performance any better than an upped ion?

Maybe. Your Ion looks like it is pretty well upped. I don't think you would see a major difference. I think you would love the HES trigger on the mini.
The stock reg is rock solid for consistancy when an LP tank is used.

3. How efficient is a mini? i own a 48/3000 tank and with that i can get 700-800 shots out of it with my ion, will a mini perform similar to that?

A bit better. Maybe a hopper more.

4. What is the chopping issue i've been hearing about. Is it a problem with the poppet, or is it just a matter of breaking it in?

Mine has never chopped. Except when I turned my eyes off. Then it was a paint spraygun. Don't turn the eyes off:D .

5. How comfortable is holding a mini? i noticed that u cant mount a drop forward on it so i was wondering how a 48/3000 would feel on it.

I like it with a 68/4500 tank. But that is me.

6. Is a mini worth it? should i go for something else?

I think it is certainly a great marker. Worth it? That is a tough one. We are, after all, talking about a toy. But this is one sweet toy.

thx.

Mini's are good, but I would go with a PMR. It has more upgrades, and is better stock than a mini

i dont know about all of these, but you probably shouldve searched for threads about minis first, cuz i know atleast some of these questions couldve been answered like 1,2 and 6

explain to me how a pmr is better than a stock mini. Dont tell me because its board is capped at 30bps because if anyone ramps on me that fast they will soon find it to be at their disadvantage.

The mini dont have that many upgrades because its hard to upgrade a great marker. Some things will come but mostly to customize it for preferances.

The mini dont have many upgrades because it dont need many. Upgrades for the pmr include replacing the plastic crap with aluminum like it should have came from the factory with.

im thinking about buying a mini and i have sum questions before i buy it:

1. How does the mini compare to other markers in its price range (fusions, pmrs, etc.)

It compares favorably and has a different feel to it when it shoots. It's also capable of high ROF's just like other markers in that range.

2. Will it performance any better than an upped ion?

In my opinion, yes (unless the Ion has every conceivable upgrade on it).

3. How efficient is a mini? i own a 48/3000 tank and with that i can get 700-800 shots out of it with my ion, will a mini perform similar to that?

I'm honestly not quite sure. I'm sure some others in here can answer you.

5. How comfortable is holding a mini? i noticed that u cant mount a drop forward on it so i was wondering how a 48/3000 would feel on it.

That's a matter of personal preference. For me, it's uncomfortable. I'm 6'3" and 225. I'm a big guy. Smaller markers aren't great for me. They may be better for you. A 48/3000 steel tank is going to be VERY heavy and negate any performance gains you get from a light marker.

6. Is a mini worth it? should i go for something else?

I think it's worth it. If you like it, snag one!

Hippo idk why you even venture off into lands other than the cci grounds :) o well. In all honesty though, yes the mini will be better than your ion, but will it be worth it? i mena lets think, you got the ion for some speed and ability to throw large volumes of paint when you get a little bored of ur phantom right? would it really be worth it to spend another few hundred dollars to get some performance gains when really you could have just settled for what you have? its not like ur ion isnt upped at all, it's far from stock. im no SP fanboy or anyhting, but imo i think sticking with what oyu have is the better option. unless ur getting a mini for $100....in which that case you need to pm me where you are getting thihs from......or if you had an electro, like a icon/spyder clone, and want something significantly better. hope this helps

my friend has a mini and ive used it i think saying the mins a great gun is an false statement. sure its nice light looks nice and all but i can out shoot my friend with my ion. i do agree its nice just not that nice!
and its been out since like christmas so im not to sure about upgrades.
but i would say either keep the ion or buy an pmr. they rock and are like 10 times better than an upped ion or mini! and plus your on the invert board except people to say the mini.

Ever considered that your friend just isn't as fast as you, or that he has his trigger set up badly?

Assuming stock boards in both markers, the Mini should be capable of firing 3bps faster than the Ion. If that's not happening, he either isn't pulling the trigger fast enough, or not every trigger pull is registering. Either way, adjusting the trigger would probably be beneficial.

I am not flaming.
I serously want to know on what experience you base that comment on?
Mine has been rock solid through almost two cases worth of paint plus about 1200 dry fire shots to break it in.
Just a little scratching of the spring on the back plug.

BTW HungryHippo, I understand what you are saying. Once you try out a well tuned mini (which mine was set perfect right out of the box)it really does suck you in it shoots so nice.

you may hear of alot of people complainin about the malfunction..but you have to think, those are only people that have messed up ones, no one with a nice gat is going to post on here saying "i got my mini and it shoots fine! i love it!" most people come on forums with problems..

I think the guy is probably referring to the problems that occurred with the first run of markers and has decided that it is due to the marker being unreliable as a whole, rather than it being caused by a couple of components that have since been revised, and offered to the owners of these early markers. There is no real reason at this point for any Mini to be unreliable.

Either that or he just equates any light marker with one that breaks easily.

^^^^^ exactly

Anyways, most of the people that got the first ones that had problems preordered them because they heard the first discussions of them on the internet forums. Now since alot of them had problems, they posted about them because they are a forum poster. There have been several minis sold and I have never seen a problimatic mini at the field. Believe it or not, every mini owner that I have talked to in person besides 1 actually knew what pbnation (yes I know im on pbreview but the mini forum there is more informative, and everyone and their brother knows about pbreview.) was. So there not in the mini forums because they really dont have much reason to be. If you notice, there were the same amount of problem threads daily in the first month or so when there were only a few hundred released as there is now when they are well in the thousands of units sold.

and as I did a little research in the other window, I realize there was no reason to even type any of this crap.... Oh my god, http://www.pbreview.com/forums/search.php?searchid=352753
That link is to his posts, some of his threads have been locked due to them being vs threads. He says that they break too easy, why did he buy a spyder clone? Shiesh, total noob.

Most new markers have a few little issues when they come out.
I know the last generation of Cyborgs had a few little issues, and I haven't heard anyone calling them crap.

And since in either case the manufacturers have been responsible in rectifying the issue, it really isn't an issue.

So I will just mark it up like you said (slightly reworded), noob posting out is bung hole.
