I just came back from the last day of Skyball 2002. The games were great, really easy for spectators to see and learn some tactics, etc. The actual trade show was the reason why i went and I was NOT DISSAPOINTED, there were about 20 vendors, but only about 15 of them were actually selling stuff. The other 10 were just there to show new products or for the Canadian Army.
As I said the trade show was fantastic. There were amazing deals since I live in CANADA. Get this I got a new WGP 2002 vert feed blue Autococker for only $500 Canadian, no tax or anything!!
Skyball 2002 was a great event and I will be there next year for sure.

held in Toronto, Ontario
at the Skydome
where the Blue Jays play
yes its always in Canada because if not there is no Skyball
Heh, yes Skyball was a great event this year. It was reasonably well run and timely, although I heard some serious complaining from multiple sources about the quality of the judging. I also heard teams complaining that the paint was very inconsistent in it's size, even within a bag of paint.
One of the great things about the Skydome is the ability to watch the games from an elevated seat, or even a restaurant. And the way ZAP presented the finals was very nice, up on the JumboTron screen and with lazer lights, smoke, etc.
123justin said he wasn't dissapointed in the vendors, which is nice since I was up there as a vendor :) I thought the vendor show was on the small-ish side but I thought all of the vendors were presenting some really nice gear at great prices. The vendor show was set up very well, since all the players had to register and then got to walk right through "vendor alley" on the way down to the field. We ran almost completely out of product the first day!
We had no troubles with customs, but allot of the other folks we talked to were searched or detained. No horror stories though.

ya I was glad to finally meet Ronn Stern and we (raven paintball club) had his hopper stickers on the whole time.
I think we had the fastest game in the whole 2 days around 10 seconds or so. The other team decided to do one massive bunker off the break on field 1 (they were all using pumps) and we smoked around 4 of them right away but then there were penatly points and such. It took longer to figure out what the refs were going to do than the whole game lastest.
I wanted to get a barrel blocking device (condom) from Ronn but waited and then they were sold out. Stupid me.
The trade show was ok, I was disappointed in the lack of WGP and AGD or if they were there I didn't know where.
AGD was not there, which kinda surprised me too. I DID see John with his AGD tech shirt on, but he was there to play not work. :(
If you still want a BBD we have them on the site. I was really surprised at how well they were received at Skyball since it was the first event at which we carried them. We had a ALOT of folks who came by Saturday wanting them, and all I could say was "I am sorry, they were gone yesterday." It was my bad for not gauging the market correctly.
Did any of you guys see/meet Killer Kat? He was our official pbreview rep out there.
