whats the deal with locked topics

why do the mods lock topics
i have one up and wanted to respond to my replies i recieved but can't
does this mean i am in trouble or something

this means that the mods think you are either spamming, posting something inappropriate, or havent searched the top[ic under SEARCH, and so they close it down to get rid of it. Uziel clears out alot of useless threads with this. If you need help, just pm one of them, like the one who shut it down.

It's most likely that your thread was closed because the answer could be found by searching, I mean if you posted something inapropriate I think you'd already know why it got locked. But mods usually do post why they're closing it, if you don't know why then do what Grim Assassin said and PM one.

In the case of your thread, it was closed because the answer could be found easily by going into the Stickies, by searching or reading the manual. It's also a frequent topic and not likely to be particularly hard to find an answer to.
