Is it really necessary to use clear and proper grammar to convey you thoughts and ideas? I think yes.

YES! You MUST use grease and NOT OIL! You will DESTROY your Vortex (or the JCS-Jet-Click if you get that) if you use oil and not grease!!!
The BEST things to use are (in no particular order):
Smart Parts SL33K
DOW 33
Shocker Lube
Evil Puss
Get a tube of one of those products and use it religiously on your Vortex/Jet-Click mod. You should lube it on install and every time you play a game (after you play when you clean the marker). A tube should last you all year unless you play twice a week all year long.

You can also use white lithium grease.
You should grease it up after every day of play (and at least once/case). You will realize that the grease collects large amounts of fine metal particles. By not cleaning and removing these particles it will destroy your vortex mod.

I check/clean out my Vortex every 3-4 play day, which is probably not as often as I should. The ratchet still looks great though.
I use a white lithium/silicone automotive grease mix on mine. White lithium alone was a little too watery for my taste. Plus, I had the automotive grease already at my house. That being said, the best things to use are the ones mentioned by MisterMister. They are designed specifically for paintball.

will WD-40 work?
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, NO!
And yes, white lithium grease will work. The best of this is the DOW 33 grease which is used in quite a number of paintball applications, all of which I mentioned above.
Lube your Vortex/Jet-Click after EVERY game.

FYI if you can get dow33 get it over sl33k because it is the same thing if you end up paying for sl33k then you will realise you just bought a name (smart parts)

As I said all 4 of the products I mentioned are the same thing.
