Is a Expansion Chamber really important for Paintballing? Is it a must need upgrade? What does it do?
If its important whcih is the "best buy"
Its important if you use CO2. It give the liqiud CO2 space to change into a gas. Its a good upgrade if you use CO2. Its not needed for HPA.

I think a better upgrade would be a regulator. They do what an x-chamber does and regulate the pressure so you don't get velocity spikes.

not true, regulators dont do what x chamber do. regulators simply regulate air pressure, they dont prevent liquid co2 from entering your marker. However, there is an exception... the palmer stabalizer. it's a good regulator, and is very effective at keeping liquid co2 out of your marker.
like AK said, it's a good upgrade if you tend to use co2 a lot, or in colder climates. Although regulators help with consistency, and accuracy in the end. a x chamber helps to ensure your marker recieves the proper air to function properly (for co2)

Well a reg actually would help co2 expand to a gaseous state seeing that it is like a once stage expansion chamber/gas thru grip.
Sure, but obviously if you get an expansion chamber with 4 stages and up, it'll do 4 times the job.

But if you have an exp chamber inline AFTER the reg it'll make the reg worthless. What about that 22 stage one WITH the reg? Who makes that? CORE?

I agree. But I still think a reg is better than any expansion chamber.
Ebon- That CORE reg/expansion chamber seems like a good idea.

star, the co2 expanding properties that a reg could provide is so very minimal! (except for that one regulator which is great for co2, you all know which one)
the performance advantage gained from a regulator is much more noticeable in the form of consistency. no doubt about that, a regulator is a great upgrade. X chambers are not nearly as popular as regs, and i fear that their days are numbered. Thier type of perfromance advantage is not nearly as noticable as a inline regulator, that is probably why most people look down on them. regulators provide better performance in the form of consistency/accuracy like i said before, but X chambers are far from worthless
