Im looking for a gun in the 400-500 price range to purchase once i have a secure job and have a primary marker(so we are talking 6-8 months) i want you guys and girls to tell me why i should get this over any other gun in its price range. So reall its between dp hybrid fusion and this b/c i don't like pmrs.
so basically try to sell this gun to me, i already like the looks

Well, i've bought it last week and it's amazing !

I've had Angel Speed 04, i can't say any bad word about it, great gun, but mini rocks !

- It's very light !
- It's accurate
- It's extremly fast
- It has magnetic trigger - for some people it's too delicate but it can be regulated to be optimal.
- It's solid and has a very simple construction
- It has lots of fireing modes - i like ramping mostly

My friend sold his Ego because in his opinion Mini is almost the same class gun, except one thing - Mini is accurate, Ego - not really. Also... Ego price is horrible when comparing with Mini :)

There is no better gun for $400 - I never wanted Ego, I've had Dye Dm5 (lots of problems), Angel Speed and now i believe that Mini is the best gun i've ever had.

May be i'm to much optimistic - i have this gun since one week, but i believe that You will not regret that !

While that's all well and good, three things should be pointed out:
1. The accuracy of the marker has nothing to do with its method of operation. It's all about the barrel-paint matching. An Ego is no less accurate than a Matrix, Mini, Angel, etc. It's all in the barrel and paint you use.

2. Magnetic triggers are quite common in markers above $300.

3. Ramping is also common in most markers above $300.

Hold/shoot the Mini before you buy one, the Mini is one of those guns thats got such a different feel that some may love it, others may hate it. I'd personally rather take the Hybrid Fusion, the only thing that the Mini really has over it is size and weight.

I've tried Ego with Dye Ultraite barrel and it was still not as accurate as Dye Dm5 or Mini. Dye Dm5 was a marker which i've sold after one month playing it - i didn't like it :-)

Of coure it's a personal decision - i like Mini, other people may hate it, so you should always check gun before buying it. It took me about 2 minutes to make a decision of selling myAngel and buying Mini :)

If you use the same barrel and paint, an ego, mini, and dm will all have the same accuracy. The only reasons you would want to buy a mini over a fusion are size and weight like Babustos said. I would go with the fusion.

well fusion is 25 less, it makes no difference but i think to get optimum "style" i would get a hyper kit. but seeing as a mini looks great i wouldnt need to spend the money to make the gun look perfect to me. im thinking right now that i would get a mini in black so i could get an empire b in white and have a great look

If looks are that important, then I guess you should go for the Mini. Still, shoot one before you buy one. Another thing is, why would you buy a Mini to have a tiny gun and then lug around a 113 ci tank? Get a small tank to match the Mini, or else the size of the Mini is utterly useless.

i have a 72, looks are important to me and i do like the invert more. im thinking about getting a 68/45 or a 48/45 to compliment the size of it. probably from crossfire or dxs(suggestions?) right now im saving to buy an empire b to compliment the speed of the gun(i have fast fingers) because i am really getting sick of my egg three (pm me if interested) and i really don't like the way it looks on my gun or a mini. thanks for the help

It's pretty much preference. If you tried both, and you like the mini better, go for it. If your field gives you free all day air, get a 48/45 or 45/45. If not, go with the 68/45. Crossfire, macdev, centerflag, they all make good tanks. Empire Bs are nice hoppers, and I prefer them over the Halo.

IMO, the hybrid fusion looks way sexier then the mini. mini is sleek, but the hybrid is very sexy detailing to it. i choose hybrid

dude like omg dont talk evar agen kthxbai.

Seriously, what the hell was that? Are you 3 years old? Use some freaking periods. A LOT. WITH A SPACE IN BETWEEN!

Minis don't chop if you know what you're doing, and they are not gas hogs. You friend probably has a 50/30 tank. Steal and steel are two different things, and a chop wouldn't break the gun. Your friend isn't "fixing" anything, he's most likely screwing it up some more. There's not many upgrades because it doesn't need any.

No matter what gun you buy theres always going to be something wrong with it at one point in time. I personally love my mini, had a problem with it at practice sunday where the air would just FLOW straight thru the gun and shredded my paint and turned my halo into a blender, come to find out it was a simple O- Ring.

i highly recommend the mini but to each his own!

unfortunately nobody i know has one of these and the local shop does business mainly with dye/proto smart parts and tippmann so they dont have any in stock. im not a big kid so the size of a minireally wont be too small for me and i think ill end up getting it off of av. the black one of course so i can get the white shelled empire b that i like and have it be an amazing looking and preforming gun

If you want to compliment the size get a 45/45 with a VLocity jr. To be performing like every other marker on the field this is a very light setup. The tank i have is the empire fuel LP and it works great but there is alot of other great tanks out there to. You could also get a myth reg just to make it that much more ungodly small.

If you want to go black and white get the urban camo powerlyte halo shell i have one and it looks sick on my silver mini

actually, you could get a used ego for 500 or so. but mini's are good too, just to small for me, and i don't like the feel of them. really, just my opinion. you should go to a store or field and see what gun you like the feel of and stuff. but mini's are good, so if you want one, go with it man.

still lighter than any other gun witht he tank on it

get the mini

small, light, fast, accurate and not so much wires and all of that other junk that tends to break (hoses ect.)

to me its a pro class gun but costs 600$'s less

but TEST SHOOT the gun before making a decision

you might not like the feel of it or anything

I believe that the mini is a fantastic gun. But its lacks something that concerns me a bit. I do not see much of any upgrades on it. i checked actionvillage and all i saw was some ball detents. I heard of some boards that may come out, but i havent seen them for an readily avaliable to the public, i havent seen any upgrades from the manufacture either.

That is the reason i went with a proto rail, this gun is fantastic. Very similar quality of a mini but has a heck of more upgades that are easy to find.

thanks:)

You can buy a Bolt, detents a board, feedneck and a trigger for the mini, as of right now you can order all of those.

calaustria
06-07-2007, 08:33 AM
Other than what Menace just mentioned, what other upgrades could you possibly need on the mini?

nathanjones008
06-07-2007, 09:29 AM
are these upgrades 3rd party or from invert? A small drop forward would be nice to have w/ on off. a new feedneck would be nice for variety, trigger which has already been explained. basicly some little things that would make mini different from other minis.

calaustria
06-07-2007, 10:03 AM
The only thing you mentioned that aren't already out is the drop. And for one, that would be pretty much impossible, and two, drops kind of suck.

Menace67
06-07-2007, 01:01 PM
with the way the Reg is setup you can have a on/off when empire decides to make one but you wont be able to have a drop on it.

Legionaire10

ths stock asa reg thing isnt on/off?
that doesnt concern me much but im a bit worried about not being able to shoot one before i buy it

I have a Hybrid Fusion. I love the way it distributes the weight to your arms instead of your hands. I'm not a big guy and prefer small guns. Both are small in reality. The Mini seems too small to me, but the 1 reason I don't like it is because you must send it back my mail ($$$) to repair. At least guys around here know how the Fusion works because of the ever-so-popular, over-priced EGO.:P

My local shop won't repair my Fusion, and they sold it to me. Its so reliable, I don't need it repaired. Any problems I have can be dealt with DP's customer service, and any problems can be solved within 2 weeks or less.

Everyone is saying the mini is sooo light, but just the gun itself w/o any tank or loader or anything weighs 2 lbs. The PMR (Proto Rail 07) comes in at 1.94, yes a difference of ounces, but the mini isn't the lightest thing, now is it?

Dees_Troy
07-16-2007, 08:49 AM
I think part of the reason that people hail the Mini over something like the PMR is that the PMR achieves its low weight through the use of plastic polymer. The Mini manages an almost identical weight in an all-aluminum manner.

You also have to make sure that you're comparing weights apples to apples. The Mini's weight is supposed to be "less than 2 pounds" including the barrel, battery, and regulator/ASA. I don't know if that's the case with the PMR as I couldn't find clear details on the PMR's weight.

Regardless, this thread is quite old and should die.
