G2 vs extra

my borther is gunna buy a new gun he's got it down between a piranah g2 VTL and spyder extra, if he gets the extra he'll replace the foregrip and the drop.

I would say g2 the extra would be a lil unrealistic to be a better gun up agaiset the g2 buts that is imo

I selected the g2 because i love my g2 pro, but i would highly recommend that you look at the new g3 series. For about the same price you can probably get a better gun. http://www.acepaintball.com is the only place that i've seen them.

I voted for a g2. Piranha's are great guns, but I wouldn't get the VTL. I would just save up the extra money and buy a STS. I think it's better and will still cost you less. Plus, you don't need another barrel when you get it, the stock is pretty damn good.

he's getting the vtl because he wants to do all the upgrades himself, so he doesn't wanna pay for a good stock barrel because he wants to replace it anyway

well if he wants it to be ugradible then y not a compack2k not the xtra. but i would say get a piranha G3 vert feed vtl, that way u still have the vert feed and dont pay for the "upgrades" on the xtra IMO

Building up a vtl would probably be a lot of fun. He could throw down an xchamber/bottomline set up and a new barrel. Or he could go with N2. Maybe later change out some bolts, get an upgrade kit. Throw down the sight rail with beaver tail. Get a double trigger. The possibilities are almost endless actually. I'd say vtl. The xtra seems like a pathetic attempt at steeling would be piranha pro customers. Then again that's just me. In time your brother could have a pretty sweet little marker and wouldn't have to spend so much money all at once. Not that the spyder xtra is all that much more, but I don't think it would be as fun. After a few upgrades, the vtl would be a unique marker that truly expresses your brothers personality. The spyder extra can be built up too, I suppose, but definately wouldn't be as fun.
