i did a basic search and didn't find any reviews so I thought I might check with yall.

Has anyone seen/used/heard about/had inappropriate dreams about, the delrin Mini bolt from rhythm innovations?

Delrin Bolt

25% lighter than stock
Does not get chewed up by the spring
More consistant because of less friction on the spring
Made with glass filled Delrin with teflon
IN STOCK AGAIN
$35.00

Any thoughts?

Will it reduce the nominal muzzle lift I get if I get when I fire without really gripping the marker(only happens in chrono, I hold it pretty tight in play).

Good post! I was wondering the same thing, because I was just looking at this a while ago. All those features sound great, but I was also looking to reduce routine maintenance dramatically. Because Delrin bolts are coated in teflon, they don't require the application of Dow 33 oil, right? So would this mean that we'd no longer have to open our Minis up for maintenance?

Sorry if this is a completely ridiculous question, since I'm still new at paintball. But if buying this bolt means opening my marker less often, I think I'll definitely be investing in it.

mmmoose, yea u shouldnt have to open the mini up nearly as much, or atleast not have to clean it(the bolt) unless a break occurs.i dont know about the rest of the internals however.

Well I hadn't even thught that lubing would be reduced, but I guess it would.

Frankly I don't have an issue with the level of maintenance a mini has.

It is by far much better than most.

I was thinking that kick and dwell might go down.(i haven't touched my mini settings in a while, was there a dwell setting?)

I got sent one for free from the compant to review it on pbnation.
I like mine, I use it over the stock bolt and I could just throw it away if I didnt like it because I wouldnt be out anything. It slides on the bolt guide better than the stock one. It greatly reduced the little kick that the mini had. Now you can defenatially say it has no kick and mean it to the fullest extent. The operating pressure went down while the effeciency went up. The consistancy stayed at the same +-2
This bolt will require you to adjust some settings on your marker and there are no magical settings, you will have to find your own. When I put mine in I got a increase in 25fps.

I lube mine just as I did with the stock bolt. It wont swell, its glass filled derlin that is teflon impregnated. It has no scratches on it from the spring either. What they promise is what you get. I would recommend it!

( had to take out link)

Nice looking triggers too.

Has any of you used the scallop trigger? I'm getting a mini and want to know if the trigger and delrin bolt is worth the money.
Thanks in advance.

egads, I always cringe whenever I see the words "Venturi Bolt" as a main feature.:o :| :blah:

Depends if they were using the word venturi in the real sense or the "paintball" sense.

The term venturi, as used in paintball, has nothing to do with the venturi effect at all. A venturi is a choke in a tube to control air flow which can be used to change the downstream pressure or speed of the flow - sounds like something that might be handy in a paintball marker right? For some reason, in paintball, it refers to a bolt with lots of little holes rather than an open face.

Now, if they were tuning the air flow, I'd be interested, but having checked their site, they are indeed drilling holes in the face of the bolt, and I really don't see any need for that in a modern, regulated marker.

dont venturi bolts choke out the markers too? I heard that the idea behind them is that it more evenly distributes the air hitting the ball to make it softer on the paint.

they have to make it diffrent for copyright issues..

Yes, the paintball equivalent of a venturi is to spread the air burst so that it doesn't hit one part of the ball and burst it.

There was a time when that may have been relevant, when all markers were running HP and ball quality was questionable (some balls had shells that were thinner in somplaces and more susceptible to breaking), but with regulated markers running lower pressures, and ball quality generally much much better than a few years ago, it just doesn't seem particularly necessary now, unless you are intending to use very brittle paint.

Still, it's another option for Mini owners, and that can't be a bad thing. Nice to see that a well established company has decided that they want to support the Mini.

Well, Im proud to announce that im going to be prototype testing the Orange bolt soon as I also did with the R.I. derlin bolt.

I would also think that it will help with really brittle tourny paint as sometimes its just so brittle it can cause problems and hurt your standings in the tourny. It will be nice for mini owners as some of them have to pay for each fill and I would strongly recommend the R.I derlin bolt for them as it increases their effeciency. If this orange bolt does nothing but increase the softness on the paint and have kick less than the stock bolt im game as many peoples tanks have more than enough air to shoot out all the paint they feel like carrying on their back and playing with.
