Does anyone know how good a Tru Flite Thunder pig barrel is? I am a new player and I'm deciding on a good barrel. Thanks for any help you can give.:)

Well, it's been my experience to stay away from Tru Flight barrels...again, only MY experience. 32* make very good barrels (Nyte Stykk if you're on a budget, Carbon Fiber is great if you can afford it.) Everyone seems to love the Smart Parts All-American, I like it, but I prefer my Carbon Fiber barrel. J&J makes a "Ceramic" which is a combination of Aluminum, Ceramic, and teflon...someone always has those on sale and I really liked the one I used...they aren't as cool looking as other barrels, but cleaning them is easy, and you can acutally regain most of your accuracy after a break just by shooting a few balls, this is because of the teflon. Anyway, find a barrel that matches your budget, then make sure the paint you use is a good fit...that's most important...most barrels are good, you just gotta have the right paint. If you will be using "cheaper" paint such as Brass Eagle or ViewLoader, take that into consideration when looking for a barrel and find one that has a larger bore b/c most "cheap" paints are larger bore. Good Luck!

I have a 16'' Thunder-Pig and I have not chopped balls with it yet. I sounds like I'm firing a cannon, because it's not ported like other barrels. If you are looking for something quiet and cheap, then get either a Quiet Riot or a Nyte Stikk.

i bought this barrel when i first started out. its a good barrel for a beginner. but you will end up getting rid of it once you get more into the sport. sure its cheap but its not really accurate and its sure as hell aint quiet.

if i were you i would go for something like a dye xcel its only 45 dolla on some sites and its a great barrel. i'd get a 12 or maybe a 14 incher. or go with a smart parts all american or smartparts teardrop.

stay away from the thunder pig unless you plan on only palying for a month.
