I just installed the tech t vortex, qeph and lightning rod mods onto my A-5 very simple to do. I was alittle skepticle after reading some threads on the difficulty of the install. It was fine though. Now just waiting for my Rampage borad to come. Does anyone else have any other suggestions on what to do to this gun. Oh yeah, I also installed the Tippman werks 12". Im thinking I should have gone with the Palmers brass though.

Red Dots are great for first-shot accuracy. A collapsible or folding stock could be nice too.

I would say that X-7 Cyclone Paddles would be money well spent. Or you could just wait for TechT to come out with some new Cyclone Paddles that they mentioned on A5OG. Also, an 1/8" ID Hose and Fittings may help a bit. Other things that you could include applying white lithium grease right under the the bottom paddle where it rubs, oil the whole bottom of the cyclone, absolutely DROWN the interior mechanism with white lithium grease, and ensuring that the screws on the bottom of the Cyclone Housing are only tight/snug, not tightened all the way. The reason being that it will bind up otherwise. Hope this helps. Have fun with your new mods!

Nice mods, it will help a lot amd you should be able to hit 25BPS with your APE board installed. But yea, I would have gone with the PPS Brass barrel if I were you.

Im new to mods, also where does the 1/8" hose and fittings go? Is that the small hose on the qeph? I will try them out too. Also I was going to get the PPS barrel. What lenght do you reccommend? I was thinking 12" non vented, black. Thanks MIke

Is there really a reason why you need the aftermarket rod? i know you need vortex, for those with e-grips, but is the rod something that is really needed? Shouldnt the qeph handle whatever flaw the stock rod has?
if you get the pps barrel, what bore size are you suppose to get? before the site didnt have the bore size as a main buy, it was always as in advance/custom setting. But now when you order it ask if you want .690 or .685 I am too lazy to call, but mistermister told me .690 is what i should choose for the a-5.

The Rod basically helps to reduce friction and allows for greater air efficiency.
As for the PPS size, I don't think it really matters. If you want, you can order it in almost any size or length that's practical. I have a .685, so does one of my friends. Another guy I know has both sizes and says it doesn't make any difference most of the time. Check out this thread:
