I played a game back in February and got about 500 shots from a 12oz tank in about 40-50 degree weather. Then I played a week ago and got about 300-400 shots. When I played last week it was in about 60 degree weather. WHY DOES THE TEMPERATURE MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN HOW MANY SHOTS YOU GET WHEN YOU USE THE SAME SIZED TANK?

Well it is simple scince co2 compresses and decompresses in the heat and cold. acully their is not really any perfect temp to play in! to hot bad c02 to cold gun frezzez (sometimes) or co2 starts to mess around and starts to deterate or something along that line i really am not the knowlaged about co2 but good question

I understand that temperature affects gasses and makes them expand more when it is hotter out and has less of an effect when it is cold. But WHY does it do this BECAUSE the gas is SEALED in your tank. Isn't the gas sealed (more or less) through out the gun and only is allowed to escape when you fire? meaning the gas should not be allowed to escape because hot weather has made the gas expand more. I am confused. Can someone who knows for sure help me with this thanks. Does going LP solve the problem or make temperature less of a factor?

You didnt get a full fill. Your efficiency should have increased with the weather. Temp does ake a difference because regardless of if your tank is sealed, if it is cold, you will put liquid into your marker, rather than gas. Liquid has a higher mass of CO2, so you are losing more CO2 despite that your tank is "sealed"

i thought he was talking while it was hooked up to his gun???? temp will screw with co2 then

A damn fool

When u rapidly shoot, ever notice that ur tank starts to get frsot on t? Its becasue the co2 is going into the gun so quicly, it doesnt have time to change into a gas before entering the gun. This prinicple also effect the co2 with weather. If its cold out, the co2 wont change as quickly into a gas as if it is hot out, and will use larger consumptions when shooting. Ever wonder why when its cold out and u shoot, white stuf comes out ur barel? Thats why. Whenits cold out, also, if u have a fast shooting time, its going to take a lot longer for ur gun to warm up, so that will efect ur performance.

To help this, u can buy a tank covr, it quiets ur gun and will keep ur tank form freezing to an extent. Also, if u realyl want to get a lot of shot form a tank, go lp. I get 2000 shots from a 20oz tank, whcih is about double wht i should.
