Apex will be better than a Flatline by far. The apex not only has the same Spin as the flatline has, but it has the distance of up to 100 yards. It has 8 settings that can be turned on and off at a moments notice.
1. Normal barrel
each notch up makes a slight differnce, but not until you get to 4.
4. Matches the Flatline.
8. This makes it SUPER FLATLINE which drops the ball about two feet and keeps sailing. On this setting you can turn the barrel any which way you want, for Drops shots, or if they are behind bunkers, just curve them around bunkers..
THe only problem is that you have to raise your marker up alittle higher for it so it can drop the two feet. Also it takes a bit of distance for it to start curving. But once youve gotten used to useing yoru Apex its a wonderfull thing imo.
If your seriously considering buying one, i would, but if your on the fence i would buy another after market barrel, and when the Price of the Apex drops buy one.
You can allways fit the Shroud of the apex (the actual working part) onto you barrel.
But if you really want it, i would buy it. You may be dissapointed at the get go, but once you get used to it, ittl be awsome.

It doesn't, really. It's a short barrel, for one, and doesn't have as much porting as other barrels.

1 more question is this an acurate barrel?

It's more accurate than the Flatline, for that matter.
Accuracy is determined mostly by paint to bore (of the barrel) match. If you have that, you should notice a change in accuracy.
A paintball filled with liquid shouldn't be expected to hit ball on ball once spin (What the Apex and Flatline do) is put on it. Granted, it might, but it'll get to that area within a decent grouping.
My cousins use their Apexs, and I've used it as well. The ball flies straight almost always.

Nope. A paint that I'd recommend is Impact. The best Wal-Mart paint your money can buy. At $20 for 1000, $38.92 for a case, it's the best budget paint, IMO.
Another paint I'd recommend is DXS Midnight. A bit more pricier, but worth it.

In any case, the range of the Apex will be more than the Flatline.
The range of the Flatline is what you just said. Around 300 or 400 feet. But that's just ridiculous to waste paint like that in a game. Keeping it on setting 4 or 5 is the what I did when I used it, and you didin't have to arc any of your shots, and it still breaks.
Max range is just for showing off, bro, IMO.

Think of it this way, your hitting people outside the range of ANY other barrel, and if 2 out of 5 shots break, thats 2 more that you CANT hope for from anything else.
And it uses more gas, if you chrono it with anything other than setting 1. Once the ball hits that rubber plate, it slows down slightly, and you have to add more psi to get the same FPS out of the barrel (Which is where chrono's read from)
