A well stocked tool kit can mean the difference between a day of play and a day of cussing. what's in yours?

I keep:
A set of standard allen wrenches
cresent wrench
phillips head screw driver
teflon tape
12 inches of microline and extra fittings
O-rings for tank and various parts of my marker
extra spring
large tube of gun oil
can of plexus lens cleaner
spare lid for my loader and that little metal pin that holds it on the loader.

That's it from memory. Should I add anything?

It's funny, guy that normally plays at the field I frequent: has duck taped his mask where the strap goes through the mask.

Adding the tape and also forgot to mention i have an extra set of allen head screws.

Actually it's not a lot of stuff ... all fits in a small tuper ware box. The funny thing is, I asked my wife to get me a RubberMaid container while she was at Walmart, had in the paper real cheap, she comes back with this 31 gallon jobber that you can put a pad lock on, so now I got this big honking container that will hold my gear bag, goggles, and two cases of paint. She's so Cool!!

Phillips head screw driver
flat head screw driver
set of 7 allen wrenches
pliers

a metal ring that holds the hopper in place

I got a lot of other stuff, but i dont know what they are called and i never use them.

I've probably had to pull out the O-rings more than anything else. I replaced three O-rings on my tank Saturday. Now it's time to restock.

I take:

allen wrenches
teflon tape
soapy water to check leaks
2 spare grease gun hoses and extra fitting
wrenches for hoses and fittings
2 extra of every O-ring
10 spare tank O-rings
electrical tape
duct tape
gun oil
elbow
2 different-sized flathead screwdrivers
thread protectors
quick-change adapter
CO2 cartridges

Tackle boxes are great for holding all this stuff, try a Plano Magnum or maybe some Stowaway boxes.

so, how often do you have to change O-rings on barrels, bolts, etc. I've got one spare O-ring for my barrel but none for the bolt or other parts (mainly because they're expensive).

i carry:
set of allen wrenches
extra o ring....*
gun lube...
and thats about it.

o rings....o rings...people replace them like 5 times a day....its crazy.....i've had my gun since last.....october?? and i havent had to change my oring ever since i got it! i've gassed it up like...so many times i couldnt count and i still have the same o ring...u guys all know how to remove ur tanks right? turn left half a turn...shoot out excess gas...turn a little bit more...shoot extra gas...and finally take it off....some people just unscrew the tank at one time...and it busts their o rings.

I rarely have problems with the tank O-ring ... I was just curious about the O-rings inside the gun.

I thinking of adding a swab type squeege to my tool kit. Right now I've got a pull through, which is good for cleaning in the safety zone, but a ***** to use on the field.

Any one out there have any recommendations?

ElectricHead
01-11-2001, 02:32 PM
agreed, i was using BE paint on the field and i had breaks all over hell, and with my pull through i spent like 80%of the time squeegeeing :(

MuckRaker
01-11-2001, 02:42 PM
I had the same problem. And the biggest B***h is haveing to take the barrel off, on the field in a firefight, run the squeege through the barrel, put in back on, jam the squeege in a pocket ... all the while hoping no one is sneaking up behind you, or running toward you ... "Pardon me kind sir, could you please not gog me until I've finished cleaning my barrel?"

i carry a wrench, teflon tape, screwdrivers, extra o rings and screws, extra Macroline hose and fittings, extra hopper and elbow, allen wrench set, gun oil, and paper towels.

oh and 2 squeegees. One is a straightshot for off the field and one is a pull through that i use on the field. if i break a ball, i use the pullthrough, then after the game i use the straightshot for extra cleanness and satisfaction gauranteed or your money back..yaeh i donno what i just wrote eitehr..

hey how does the straight shot work? i just ordered mine with a sheath, if you just use the o-ring end how clean does it make your barrel? when im in the field i dont wanna run both ends through...

TLplus84
01-11-2001, 05:46 PM
the o ring makes a tite seal around the inside of the barrel and when you push it through, it pushes all the goop out. Just push the straight shot through Oring first, then if you don't wanna use the cloth part, just pull it back the opposite way to make sure you got all the paint out.

Here's something that has completly slipped my mind: Tick repellant. It gets hot here in Central florida, and playing in the woods ... don't want no critters crawling up my pants leg and biting anything important. Also, maybe some snakebite cure.

ElectricHead
01-13-2001, 02:02 PM
do you gotta take off your barrel to use the straight shot???? the reason i got it was to NOT have to take off my barrel!

TLplus84
01-13-2001, 02:12 PM
yeah man you gotta take the barrel off for both squeegies. The pull through is just easier to carry.

ElectricHead
01-13-2001, 02:38 PM
****!!!! I THOUGHT IT WAS LIKE A T SQUEEGEE!!!

TLplus84
01-13-2001, 02:39 PM
nope. the one i have on the field is a coiled squeegee, and the straight shot is...well...a straight shot.

Counterfeit
01-13-2001, 02:47 PM
You don't have to take your barrel off to use a straight shot. That is the whole point of them.

MuckRaker
01-13-2001, 02:48 PM
I've seen some guys who have the big fuzzy squeege on a stick use them on the field without taking the barrel off, but I don't know what brand squeege they were using.

I'm wanting something to get the broke balls and paint outta the barrel on the field, and I don't want to take the barrel off.

TLplus84

i thought you had to take the barrel off to use the straiht shot..

NO!!

That is the whole point of a stick squeege!!
You push it in at the top and move the disc to the side, slide in the squeege and release the button and pull it out.

The fuzzie squeege your talking about is called a battle swab muck. They are very nice. You don't have to take the barrel off and they can be folded in half.
So far it is my favorite style out of all the three kinds that I own. Stick, battle swab and pull through.

MuckRaker
01-13-2001, 03:11 PM
I definitly need a battle swab ... But I will attest to the effectiveness of my pull through. Last week I chopped a lot of balls. When I pulled that squeege through the barrel, it was clean, I mean, shiny clean, and it pulled all the goop outta the barrel. The only thing it didn't clean was the bolt, and well, you can't expect it to do that.

uhh counterfeight..can you repeat those directions? i'm slow to comprehend these directions..hrmm

ElectricHead
01-13-2001, 03:58 PM
you push in the top and it truns the o ring sideways, then you push it in, once its all the way in, you let is off and pull it out, made for cleaning on the field. you had me scared for a minute...
