help thread adapters

hey i have a tippman 98 and a smart parts ion and i want a new barrel but i dont feel like spending a lot on them. so i have heard that you can get barrel adapters for them but i dont know were to get them if u know please tell me. i am specifically looking for a tippman male and a ion female thread adapter.

Umm... I have never heard of that combination. Check eBay or some paintball shop and talk to them, they might be able to find and order one for you, if you are lucky.

is there any problem with using two barrel adapters. is there any serious problems with this.

I wouldn't do it... I'm sure you can, just not recommended. You might just have to bite the bullet and get another barrel unless you can find the one adapter.

You can get VERY good barrels for well under 50 bucks. if you want a new barrel dont be so cheap and just go buy one. Paintball isnt a cheap hobby and you gotta pay if you want to play.

Lapco makes barrel adaptors. Where you can convert an ion threaded barrel to fit onto a 98. A few years back when i first started playing, i used a spyder to 98 converter. This allowed me to use spyder barrels on the 98. However, the adaptor made the rest of the barrel almost useless and accuracy was thrown completely off.

IMO, i believe that you should just buy a nice single piece barrel, something along the lines of a J&J ceramic. They are pretty affordable and are very well made. So basically for the price of an adaptor, you can get a nice barrel.
