I'm in a bit of an argument with a friend. He wants to sell his Talon to some guy for $25 bucks (rip-off). He doesn't believe me when I says that it will break in three months anyway. Even after another friend had his internals totally fall apart, he still won't listen. Here's the question... what, approx., is the life of Talon (in months)?

Well I managed to crack of the cocking arm of my talon within a matter of months. I've never been one to play nice with my toys though. :badboy:

Actually talons are pretty sturdy guns if you treat them well and handle them with care, but not really worth $25 used.

It's kind of wierd, but my friend had his Talon last 2 years without ever breaking or leaking. I guess he got a defect...But still, his Stingray lasted 2 yrs too...jeez

Sometimes you get a piece of crap, other times you get an excellent marker that will last about as long as any tippmann or wgp marker out there. Personally my brother and I got lucky on be with our tigershark, raptor and stingray II ice. The tigershark is going to go under a semiautomatic conversion in the near future, the raptor is going to become a project gun after the shark goes semi and the stingray is getting a trigger job and .45 frame (custom carved by yours truly :)

You're going to make your tigershark run like an autococker? Thats awesome. How?

What I plan to do is:

First - Do an under-cocking mod

Second - Make a cocking arm with a small steel rod threaded to fit the pump arm holes for the bolt.

Third - Attach a pneumatic ram to the cocking arm and fasten said ram to the barrel.

Fourth - Hook up a 3-way to the ram, positioned to provide the shortest trigger pull possible

Fifth - drill a 1/8th inch hole in the valve, connecting a palmer micro-rock low pressure reg to the valve.

Sixth - Hook up the reg to the 3-way

Seventh - Time and make sure the gun is at the optimum operating pressure (no more unregulated c02, I just got my Centerflag 51 ci tank yesterday)

As for the .45 frame cocker fans love, I got that covered, I made one for the shark a long time ago.

(Note, you can convert a saber to semi by following these steps minus the undercocking mod, already done. But u got screwed over for the possibility of the .45 frame :)
