Hi, I am currently using a Smarts Parts Ion with a 2006 Progressive barrel. I am thinking about upgrading to a Freak back with an All American front or a Powerlyte 07 Scepter kit. Which do you guys think I should get? Thanks for your help!

Scepter. Hands down.

Much better quality to the backs, and they are set up to seat themselves correctly when put in. The backs are sturdier so they wont get bent as easily. And as I mentioned, are made to self-seat correctly. Freak backs arent. so if you put them in wrong, it's gonna affect the barrel's accuracy. and if they are way out of alignment can cause barrel breaks. Which...with any sp barrel is a major pain to clean.

Scepter all the way.

I was also hearing some reviews from friends about the Lucky barrels. Think the Scepter is still better?

I'm not a fan of "insert" barrel kits. The inserts have a tendency to get lost, dinged, etc. I'm personally a fan of CP Kits. I've heard good things about the Scepter's as well as the Redz Peppersticks as well. If at all possible, try before you buy (if you can borrow from people locally).

Nomahsib- Lucky went out of business. Their barrels are Very hard to come by nowadays :( But yeah, I'd have taken a lucky over a scepter, and definitely over a freak.

CP's are definitely good barrels. A bit expensive to throw a kit together, but definitely good barrels.
And I most definitely agree with Pez. I'd take a 6+ inch control bore back over an insert system ANY day of the year.
